I don't understand this...

ah, good info. I'll pass that along.

Side note: nice 1/4 times. Just goes to show that you don't need tons of HP to put up nice numbers.

I've been reading on here that our FS-DE cannot handle nitrous period. My friend has a 95 Honda Civic DX 1.5 non-vtec and he was able to handle Zex 65 shot DRY KIT with stock everything but a intake and a big rice can! Not even spark plugs! Can I get an understanding why our FS-DE wouldn't be able to handle a 55 shot zex dry kit? Actually, if possible, let me know what I need.

RODS...

Ill be the dick. REad the forums, the FS engine sucks big fat hairy donkey balls. Mazda couldnt even get it right with the MSP. See how many people popped motors sotck. Its a sucky ass engine, and with NOS and Engine MGT, it is worse the boosting the car becuse its not a constant tune you can do like boost.

No Really, It the perfect "NON TUNER CAR"

If you don't mind never wining a street race and dont plan on changing anything, it's great.

Here is the problem...

I'd like to clear up some misinformation if I could....

I've built and run nitrous cars since I was 16...for those counting thats a decade. Nitrous is HANDS DOWN the best bang for the buck in the power-adder catagory. When used properly it is damn hard to beat it. Here are my thougts.

#1. ZEX nitrous is PERFECT for daily driven street cars who just want an extra kick....like this poster claims. I've installed about 10 of them in the past 2 years. I recommend them to all my friends. (we've not lost an engine yet)

#2. Wet shot is NO safer than a dry shot. In fact sometimes it can be more dangerous. An example would be in the SHO's. The unusual intake manifold design would cause the fuel to puddle in the 1-2 chambers so you would burn up the rings instantly. The only way to fix this is to switch to a direct-injection wet kit or a dry kit. Wet kits make more power...they are NOT safer.

#3. You should never spray more than 50% of your bhp. In our case 130bhp = 65hp shot. This doesn't mean spray a 65hp shot...it means DO NOT SPRAY ANYTHING OVER A 65HP SHOT! I would think a 50hp shot would be pushing it. I'm setting one up in a friends protege DX and we're going to run a 30hp shot. This will be with colder plugs and 93 octane.

#4. fs-de engines are made with crystal. You could fart and bend a rod. Proper tuning is a must when cramming air into an engine like this. Unless you're serious about spending big bucks to do it all right then see #3.

I recall a member named acidbbg saying he used nitrous just fine, you might ask him, or search for his posts.

whitemp5smuggler also used it for awhile without issue, he's since gone turbo

what do u think I need?

I currently have:
2003 p5 with auto tranny :(
Sorry but IMO I think that for the track, the auto shift HAS to go. Your already behind a stockp5 with a manual by about 1 second. And my stock '02 P5 m/t hit 17.0 on my best run averaging 17.1@ 82mph. (smash) Hell I tied running it after a major tune up and it got the 17.0 But 5 months later, without tuneup, Allseats out but driver, Spare tire and equipment out, windsheild washer res empty, and the exhaust from cat back OFF it would only muster 17.1 Which makes me wonder, did it need a better tune up before i went down the track, or did I knot drop enough weight? Ok I'll stop before this gets(jacked)

What were the conditions? I've had to run in 92 degree weather with an unbeleivable 80% humidity right before it rained at Silver Dollar in Reynolds Ga.
More importantly, HOw did you launch the car? I've tried babying it out the 60 footer, and Slamming from 7,6,5,4,and dropping lightly at 3 grand. Nothing seems to work.
