I did an eBay FMIC and tok lots of pictures. Here's how.

Run a pusher that pulls on the front and a puller that pushes from the rear... Then it'll create a vacuum and won't overheat! EVER! FTW?

just go on ebay and search from slim fans they work great. get 2 since you have AC and sell your stock fans if you want to make some money back.

?....... vaccum? I run a pusher puller setup runs like a champ. Front fan pushes and the back one pulls

I ended up going to the 'standard' hot pipe routing, using a slim fan on the drivers side. however, the car continues to boil over after really hard driving, even with a cool down idle. i discovered my rad cap has disassembled itself inside the rad, so i am doing a flush and thermostat swap too. we'll see how it goes.

also, i found a boost leak while i was doing the re-routing, so i really can't tell if having less piping on the hot side makes any difference.

What extra piping did you have to buy to make the Air intake? Im planning on ordering the stuff to do the build in the next few days and would love and appreciate specifics.

no extra piping was required but you need the 2.25" > 2.5 coupler. I used one of the left over pieces of 45 2.5" piping to make the intake. The cone filter i bought had a 3" inlet, but if you use an extra coupler as a bushing it will fit.

also looks like the new rad cap fixed my boiling over problem.

A 2.25" strait coupler can be stretched onto a 2.5" pipe with some effort. I'm a cheapass, so thats how I handled it. Same for the 2.75" needed for the MAF.

the reason you are boiling coolant is because half of your primary fan is open and not sandwhiched up against the smic. Before it had to pull air through the smic and the radiator. Now its just pulling the air through the open half of the fan and not through the radiator. I had this problem along time ago when i tried to use a 14" fan on my stock msp rad i couldnt get it to sit flush so it just pulled air from the gap between the fan and the radiator instead of pulling the air through the radiator. get a mishimoto rad and fan shroud that way you never have to worry about boiling coolant again!
