I decided to finally eat without meat in my diet.

Cable43 - Do you eat sushi? Edamame is awesome. I always order some before I get my meal. They come salted and IN the pod. I love em.

Real Peanut Butter tastes better in my opinion. I can't eat the "regular" stuff any more.

Kettle Chips are my favorite, the best chips there are, and they are healthy. I never had Terra yet.

unagi and spider rolls will be the death of me

at work I have this one client who HAS to eat sushi when he's at the office.
sometimes he's there 4 days a week (but it's usually on the company so i can't complain)

I's a process I grew up on white bread peanut butter & jelly sandwiches and Kool-Aid!!!

now it's natural organic peanut spread & honey on whole wheat pita
washing it down with some pomegranate juice!!!

I haven't tried Pomigranite juice. Maybe on payday. It is SUPER healthy.

Are you in shape? I assume you are with the way you eat.

be careful when doing this. know your body.

when my sister went vegan, didn't last for more than a year because she wasn't getting the right vitamins and minerals.

specifically her iron levels were VERY low, and it made her sickly

just a warning

ummm i'm trying to be
it's kinda hard with the little one and my fluctuating work schedule.
I'm in the gym about 3x per week and I use a Heart rate monitor and keep a training log to track performance and levels. I'm really looking to next years bike race season. I know some pretty strong riders so I have t be i shape to keep up with them.
I'm not 18 anymore though (i'm finding out the hard way)
the weight doesn't just "Stay" off, it's a lot more work now.

true true

Vitamin supplements are a must (vegan or not)
talk to you doctor (and not "WebMD")
get a physical and some blood work done (you'll thank your self in the long run)
you have to know where your base is and try to maintain it.

no meat and no dairy make vindication go something something
go crazy
DONT MIND IF I DO. WAAAAHHHHHHAAAAAAHHHHHOOOO

you'll eat edamame until you find a dead worm in 1, lol. My sister opened one up still in it's pod and found a worm in it. talk about she hasn't touched one since. My dad and I joked about the protein she'd get from it though, it was fun.

you know what's in a hot dog?

i've eaten them sure but what's in the water... or any food you don't grow, harvest clean and prepare yourself?

you just take it all bit by bite. WHEN I find a worm... i'll brobbly eat it.

but thats just me (thumb)

same, just trying to sway him away from the vegetarian dark side, meat is good and should be eaten, that's why it's on this planet. Of course, also have the veggies so you don't get constipated but I don't see besides high cholesterol or something like that, that you'd actually want to consider veggies over meat.

cows, chickens, porkchops, lambchops, rabbit, frogs... doesn't that sound good?

lol, just messing with you guys.

I agree that meat has a place in the human diet, just not to the extent that many eat now.

There are a lot of things that are not natural in the diet that humans eat - white flour, white sugar, hydrogenated oils, food dyes, and way, way too much meat.

I like seafood. It is lean and is quite healthful, and as far as meat goes, very clean. I am not going to eat a ton of it, but I will not give up sushi and salmon on occasion.

I am not joining P.E.T.A. or anything, although I have thought that the meat industry is quite cruel and needs to change their killing and raising methods even before I decided to change my diet.

I feel that this will work out just fine. I will post wether or not I am losing any fat. I am 5'11", 185. I would like to be about 175. My cholesterol was a little bit high, and is naturally due to my family, so that should go down a little as well.

i'm not strickly veg at all I'm just not into a fatty, high sodium, empty carb, diet.... i'm gettin old!
there was a day that I would eat 6 McD's Cheese burgers in one sitting and I was probably a healthy as the average 17 year old. but now i'm trying to loose and keep off the baby weight!(lol)

wait...

GL to you :) When my parents lived out in AZ for 6 months, they tried veganism and raw foods. They stayed vegan for a bit, then switched to vegetarianism and my family now eats a bit of red meat, but tries to keep it on the low end of their diet, the dairy part is the hardest for my mom. She did say that AZ is a great place to live if you want to go veggie since there are always fresh vegetables and it's easy to find groups of other vegetarians for advice and support. I eat a lot of veggies, but I'm too lazy to go vegetarian, otherwise I probably would since I'm not a big fan of dairy and don't eat a lot of read meat, sushi is a weakness though.

I live off meat, ritalin, and Big Red.

The rit really helps at the gym.

I took it recently, actually. I have a friend who is into the alternative medicines, and he has the $300 machine to make the stuff! About 3 months ago, I had got a bad respiratory infection, and it made my asthma kick into overdrive. I was out of work for 3 weeks or so off and on, felt horrible. I was on 4 antibiotics and anti bacterial medicines, and it was not working. The whole time, he told me to take colodial solver. Eventually I was desperate enough, and I tried it. 1 tablespoon an hour for 3 days, and I was all better! It was amazing! So I am a believer now.

He and I used to work at the same company, he was my boss, actually, up until last year. He now works from home, focusing on his health products website, www.vivagen.net . He has a little of everything from books to vitamins to chelation purification.

Oh, there are a lot of sites with info about poisonings from colodial solver, but that was the result of oversodes and impurities, from what I have read.
