I was going to paint my rotors today cause they all rusted. After lifting the car and taking off the lugs, the wheels wouldn't come off. I think its becuase they are rusted to the rotors. I sprayed WD40 on them, let them sit and even banged on them with a screwdriver and hammer, and nothing happend. What should I do? (help)

kick...repeatedly...then sit and shake like crazy...i had the same problem when i went to paint my calipers on sunday...it took a few minutes but it eventually came off..

i heard that sitting while facing the lifted tire and kicking ONE EDGE of the tire...it could loosen it...

you could try kicking it from the inside but don't hold me responsible if you end up with a Darwin Award (second)

kick opposite sides of the tire. it'll work itself loose eventually. then when you remount your wheel, put some anti-sieze on the hub.

I did kick it, but I didn't want to go to town on it cause its on jack stands.
Anything besides kicking them?

No...not really... (sad2)

i used my club and hit the tire from the inside. came off with 2 good hits. just make sure you dont hit your rim...

kicking / rubber mallet / pulling

repeat over and over and over until you get it off. trust us.

lower the car then take it for a drive around the block...

j/k dont do that... but yea just kick the s*** out of it (lol2)

If kicking it fails just take it to a tire shop and tell them to just do a tire rotation. That usually only cost about $5 and you won't have to worry about kicking the car clean off the jackstands then. Then you can take it home and remove the wheels with ease after that.

WHOA...before you do that make sure you inspect the inside of the wheel well....make sure nothing is broken...cuz if they give you s*** like "oh we rotated it but found that your **** is broken....your ******"

take pics...just in case.

just kick it...its easy, and your car shouldnt come off the stands unless your freakin jackie chan or something...

If/when you do get your wheels off, coat the inside hub are of the wheel with some anti-seize.

It'll help the next time your in that predicament (i.e due to the dissimilar metals bonding).

actually, i kicked the s*** out while my car was on jackstands and it didnt move a single bit...hell, even a few others were kicking it too and the car was too damn stable on the jackstands to fall off...
