I am really torn between Forge or Turbo BPV...

HELP! Let me have everyone opinion. I want to order ASAP but can not make up my mind. The Forge is $45 cheaper but the Turbo sounds stock just a little louder and obviously holds boost better than the stock. (hand)
 
I dunno, if I could do it again I'd have gone with a quieter BPV than my Forge. If you like the stock sound and the Turbo is just a little louder than stock, rock on my friend.
 
So you think the forge was that much louder than the Stock or just different enough to get annoying over time? I have heard the forge in person, not a huge fan but could suffer through it. LOL
 
Talking about the turbo xs bpv I'm guessing? Or the turbo xs hybrid? Just says turbo. Clairfy and I might be able to help! Turbo xs hybrid had a whip crack then psssst sound. No experience with forge but now I am searching for more of a whoosh sound myself

Upon thinking it over, the Forge isn't terrible sounding and I haven't heard one next to a Turbo side by side so I can't compare the two with any level of authority. I think it's really the sucking sound of the SRI that's starting to irk me now and then. But I usually hear it in conjunction with the Forge at some point, so I associate the two. I guess what I'm trying to say is that my SRI is conditioning me to hate my BPV. :)

Bottom line, if you can stand the ping, get the Forge. It's a unique sounding BPV and it's cheap. Hope that helps.
 
I am talking about the Turbo BPV, I dont want the hybrid, I want full recirc.

Yea, again it is what it is. I guess I could start with the Forge and if that bothers me in time I can sell it and try the Turbo.
 
Turbo XS or Turbosmart? Just saying "Turbo" is like saying, "I shop for groceries at store. It's my favorite place. Do you shop at store?"
 
Yeah, doesn't make sense... never heard of the turbo bpv. I don't like the noise of the forge. I think the best bpv is the greddy type s
 
I have the Forge and actually it's NOT that loud, alot people state how LOUD it is, but with and SRI, it's actually the same loudness besides the TING at the end. But I'm probably gonna switch mine out with the HKS one, getting tired of the same sound all the time. FORGE is definately WORTH every penny NO DOUBT!!
 
Forge FTW here. I love it. It has a sound that commands attention. Sounds great with a SRI. How can one get tired of the sound that the SRI makes...?

I concur..there's nothing like the sound the two makes. Yesterday I down shifted to 3rd as I came up on a 350z who had his window down. I cruised next to him for about a 1/10 of a mile then I mashed the go pedal to get a little distence on him. I slowed and waited then did it again. He took the bait and I nailed him. We vame to a light and he asked me did I have a turbo cause he heard spooling and BOV when I shifted. I said naw...you were hearing things...see ya. lol
 
Hehe I'm still waiting on my HKS intake. I was at a light the other day and I started hearing lots of turbo "sneezing" like crazy. I look in my rearview and there's a GTI behind me revving his engine. I'm debadged so all he saw was a Mazda 3 with a big exhaust. He was making me jealous though... I can't wait to hear my turbo! I had a semi truck in front of me and we were on a 2 lane road. I guess he wanted to drag race me from behind with a semi in front? (dunno)

Or maybe he was just letting me know what was up with his car.

On topic, I think I'm going to get a Forge BPV. I've just heard way too many good things about it.
 
Forge FTW, especially since I've never heard of "Turbo" bpv. Ebay knock-off?

Bonafied: The greddy type s is a great valve, but since they haven't made one in 5 years, it's not much of an option. Too bad the RS is a pile of crap.
 
I might be selling my polished Forge soon if any one is interested, I'm probably gonna reinstall my HKS and just leave it, the Forge ting is gettin a bit old.
 
Ive got the forge and I dont think its too loud. Dont really hear the ping unless you step on it pretty good. Not sure how you drive but I usually shift under 3k normally and with the windows up I dont hear a thing. Mine sounds just like stock unless you rev it up to like past 4500 and let off (ull get the notorious ping). Its a quality product and its cheap which is why I bought mine.
