Hwy 9 Fun Run!

What the hell, it's already out there, and they just announced they are pushing the release date back YET AGAIN for the US....

grrrr I hate you Roy :p

Q@#$@!#$!!! Damn got a check engine and #2 cylinder misfire today.
went to pull the plug and saw that the plastic sleave going to the plug
was in several pieces with the spring all ****** up.

so any recommendations for a local dealer to goto and by a new pack?
should I buy a whole set or just the one? Is this a dealer only item?

just hit 45k miles too. I guess it's time for total maintenance check.

thanks for any help guys

I would just replace both of them while you are at it.

Unfortunately this is pretty much gonna be a dealer only item, but if you call up and order from mazdastuff.com or call Chris at SPD Racing the prices will be a lot better if you can wait for the parts.

(eek2) oh s***! just pulled the plug and the whole electrode is missing! (nervous) all that's left is the nose.

how much damage would that cause to the engine? would it just of melted
off? should I be taking her into the dealer?

from reading on the net looks like I had some extended pre-ignition. So I guess the electrode just burned away and heated up the plug until it cracked the coil pack.

hopefully it didn't damage too much of the engine. the plug was a little loose.

so anybody have a good dealer around here they like? I'm closest to the almaden mazda dealer. I might get her towed there to check the pistons if she's still running funny after the coil pack replacement. I might go and get a new egr valve as that could of caused some of the pre-ignition. and at 45k I guess it can't hurt.

Almaden and Steven's Creek are owned by the same folks and my experiences there have been laregely the same. Very neutral.

Those are the only dealers I have any experience with.

I'm saving my money for the new GT4 steering wheel (and maybe the whole seating). I really can't wait for the game to be release..
