Hwy 9 Fun Run!

If case anyone is bored, I'll be up in the hills tonight. Probably around 10-10:30. I have a little 236 action on my mind.

Who knows someone who got their car worked on by Blacktrax? Jimmy told me about a few people who got their cars screwed up there, and now the owners think I'm badmouthing them, so please let me know who got their cars fixed there so I can let them know.

I guess I'm outta here. I'll have my celly, so if anyone feels like driving tonight, gimme a buzz. Otherwise (hi) (woowoo)(wrc)(drive)(ricer)

Can you give me names/cars of a few who's had their car done there? I just want to prove them wrong.

So in all honesty when you get past the fact that the civic has all the power of 20 dead mules under the hood, I must say the suspension set up is nice for a car in its class. It rides very smoothly and almost too softly but in corners it is very very neutral and I even got a slight bit of oversteer today coming off my favorite offramp getting off of hwy17 to get onto hwy85 north. I'm sure the RE92s helped...

On a side note, this is the only car I've driven so far that made me feel like I was going to take off when doing 100mph, even the Cadillac with ****** struts feels better at high speed.

This thread's becoming a joke. Whatever happened to actually driving up Hwy9? Seems like everytime we meet, it's up Black to 9, then everyone goes home.
s***, I almost killed myself last night when a deer ran out. lol, I'd probably still be laying in a ditch if I swerved right instead of left...pretty spooky.
O-Well, I ******* refuse to quit mountain driving. I may need to find some new driving buddies, but I for one, am not done up there. There's too many fun roads up there going to waste.
WhyTF would someone put hundreds of their hard-earned dollars into their suspension when they don't even plan on utilizing it?? You'd might as well just cut the springs..your car looks just as cool, and it costs way less. I guess it's just a different mentality than what I've got. Some people like a show car. (shrug) At least all those cool performance parts are still like new, huh? Never used to their potential? Maybe they're still worth something, you can sell them and get a lowrider on daytons and bags

ok i am sorry, proteges are the best handling cars how can I possibly compare a lowly civic
I wasn't talking smack on the Civic, I was eggy at the fact that no one wants to drive anymore. Vtec pwn3s.

Hey Natey, I for one am not done with driving in the mountains, I just don't have my car for the week, I am sorry but that's just the way things are. And to be honest, save for 3-4 meets that we had up there, it has ALWAYS been me and you (and Jimmy when he got his car) that are the ones driving up there.

I totally agree with you on people's mods, why spend thousands of dollars on your car just so you can look at it through your window and tell everybody (including yourself) that she's so pretty to make yourself feel good about spending these thousands of dollars.

s***, I haven't done a single mod to my car (save for the ebay STB lol) and I drive the **** out of it and have 10 times more fun than 99% of people with mods that cost as much as my whole car did.

Don't get pissed, I will have my car back and we'll be out driving around again. Try not to drive alone if you can help, it is just not a good idea. Remember the huge loop we did that one night, we went down and all around, alpine, stage rd, tunitas creek, etc etc etc

I have a feeling that another loop of similar proportions will help change your mind about things :)

P.s. I am sorry I bent my wheel last time and ruined the drive, but s*** happens :(

never mind the Civic I was just stating how the suspension feels, don't get me wrong it's still like driving a dump truck compared to the Miata ;)

It's all good, Ya. That post was directed at pretty much everyone but you and Jimmy. Sorry for being eggy. :)

If we want people that will actually drive with us then we need to frequent the 4AG boards, zilvia.net, MR2 boards, s*** as scary as it may sound (The MIATA forum!).... etc etc

We're looking for people to drive their car at 9/10ths on a board for economy priced sedans. Don't get me wrong, the car might have plenty of potential and capability but I don't think it's within the mentality of the car owners here to drive their car like a bat out of hell. Most people are terrified of a decreasing radius sweeper with a rock wall on one side and a 1000ft+ drop on the other.

No worries Nate, I am just surprised that you just NOW realize this when it's been this way since forever :)

I think people are also terrified of going fast and somehow automatically associate going fast with being a dangerous driver. Well, I for one, have seen people drive more dangerously on hwy9 at 45mph than I do at 75 mph. Sure, even 50mph can be quite dangerous if you don't have the sligthest clue as to how to take a good line.
