HVAC Question

I noticed the other day that a small amount of air can be felt coming through all four front vents when the mode selector is set to defrost/front windshield. Is this normal?

It seems odd to me and I've never had another vehicle do this.

Just went out to garage and tried on mine, no air comes out of front face vents when defrost/front wind shield is set on mine

When set to floor, all four dash vents have noticeable output. I shut these down manually.

Only on floor mode? I went out and tried it again cycling through every mode. I notice it on all modes.

I have not tried other modes, but noticed the floor mode doing it as I don't like hot air blowing in my face, especially when the wife is cold and I'm already too hot. Thankfully the dash vents have very effective shut-off doors.

Next time someone has a dash apart, it would be nice to get a look at the HVAC plenum to see what's going on with this.
