Do software on the S60 R and it would be faster then the G8. The S60 R would eat the G8 in the corners.

The S60 R is going to be a rare car since its or was a low production model. I have a feeling G8s and 1 series are going to be everywhere in my area. Hell I see a ton of EVOs and STi around here.

But it's still a Volvo...I don't believe for a second that they actually feel that the owner of the S60 is gonna mash the gas too much...they do have potential, but I'm sure it's waaaayyyy more expensive to mod then the G8. Plus I don't see Volvo selling these for less than $40K.

with all the BMW options and packages for the 135i, you'll be lucky if you get something you want for under $40K.

It would have to be a special order car. All 135s will have packages and options on them. Most likely most will be autos.

That's not really that much of a discount. MSRP was around $39k on these.

I'd still take the G8. RWD is a lot more fun, and there's no replacement for a huge V8.

Starting at $39K. That is not much I know unless its a fully loaded model. I drive my buddy's 05 S60 R today at lunch and its really fun on snow covered roads. You know how awesome AWD is in snow.

You must not know many Volvo owners. I know many and 80% of them are the type to mash the throttle.

You are right about the Volvo is more expensive to mod then the G8 will be. Most of the high performance parts for the Corvette and GTO will bolt right on to the G8.

sti will eat all competition on the racetrack :)

sti ftw.

I do not know about that.

I spend 50 bucks to fill up everytime with a V6. Granted the fuel tank is 20 gallons. You have to remember that american v8s only take regular unleaded wher the EVO, STi, and 135i take premuim. That typical a 20 to 30 cent difference in price.

The STi and EVO get crap mileage. I have two so called friends that have an EVo MR and a STi and both of them get crap mileage commuting with them.

12 gallons for me (14 gal tank) costs in the low $40s. i average prob 21mpg with a TBE and ecu reflash to lean things out a bit. not horrible but a v8 with cylinder deactivation will be in the same ballpark i'm sure. remember they have torque so at normal driving your car can be at a very low RPM and you'll still have no trouble moving and passing people.

no car listed there is going to get good gas mileage. they all should be in the same ballpark, right around 20mpg for normal driving and less when you drive the car in a spirited manner :)

I average 16-17mpg in my Avalanche with cylinder deactivation. Dropping 2500lbs and adding a couple gears should get that over 20 pretty easily.

BTW, it costs me about $90 to fill the (30 gal) tank.

I know....what do they average per tank? There is two modded GTOs in my family and they like to drink gas. I've driven a stock 04 GTO for a while and it was averaging 22 hwy if I was easy with it. What do you average in the MS3?

How does your wallet feel after that? I could never afford a truck with the price of gas these days. I'm not liking the 50 bucks a week now.

To be fair, a 30 gallon tank goes for close to 500 miles, so it's not really as bad as that. Still, I can't wait to get rid of this thing.

That is not bad. The Altima with it's 20 gallon tank can go that as well. I know because I've done it. When the low fuel light comes on it still has 5 gallons left.

Why do you have it then? All my relatives that use to own trucks and SUVs all have downsized to cars because of gas prices.

Long version or short?

My wife and I found out we were having a baby, and we've got dogs, and needed something that could carry both at once. We needed something I could trade my 6-month-old MS6 in for, complete with the $10k in negative on it. She was working at a Chevy dealership at the time, and they got a bunch of cheap cars/trucks from a dealership that had been shut down. Combined with my GM employee discount, it was cheap enough to finance the extra $10k. It's very nice (MSRP of $38k), and I drove it for a few days before deciding I could live with it. After a few months, the schoolbus driving dynamics and gas guzzling is getting very old, though.

ms3 or any 4 cylynder gets 20-28 on gas,sum can reach 40mpg(corolla and old civic hatches);), most v8 is 15-22 average....

v8=gas guzzler :)

lol that's some nice generalization there. the 4 cyl cars in this thread take premium gas and will be right around that 20 mark. the v8 in this thread will be around 20mpg (remember it's really a family sedan, just a sweet one) and take regular. gas mileage has no place in this thread

well, thats if ur talking bout city milege, highway milege *cough* is a different story ;)

face it, 4cylinder ftw,v8 are waste of cylinders :)
