I am getting ready to pic up a 2004 Mazda 3 S 5-door in silver on Saturday and I was just wondering how well some of you liked your 3. I was looking at a Scion tC but Mazda's warranty was better.

I just got mine last week and I really like it...I don't know much about cars though. I like how it looks, how roomy it is inside, and the steering wheel audio controls.

I've had my 3 for about 4 months now and I love it. I too was looking at the Scion tC, I am glad I got the 3.

just got my 06 yesterday. it's pretty sweet. It's my wifes primary car though so I don't see alot of it. I told her she could get the 3 if I can get my tacoma next year ;)

(humpleg) lovin it more and more... especially now...

I have a black 3 and the paint isn't that hot. I've used Zaino wax, and clean it periodically but the paint chips easily and now I'm noticing some edges are rubbing down to the primer. Small areas around door; nothing major now but it makes me wonder how the paint will hold up in the long-run. We have a 2003 Honda Pilot which is also black and doesn't have nearly as many chips. I've also had 4 other Mazdas (all proteges) and never experienced this issue. I've complained about it with my dealership and they say it's "normal". Finally convinced them to take a look at it next week. If they don't do anything about it I'll call the 800 number in my manual. FYI most dealerships hate this since Mazda wants dealerships to resolve issues. I was told by another Mazda dealership that a call into to Mazda will affect the dealerships placement in the ranks.

I'm hoping they will offer to repaint the car for me.

That said, I am VERY tough to please and I can honestly say that the new 3 is one of the only cars I can see enjoying for 10 years. I commute 2 hours everyday and I think the 3 is extremely well-designed, amazingly comfortable (I'm 6-3 200lbs) and drives like an Audi A4. Noise level is also low compared to my 2001 Protege ES).
For the money it's a steal in terms of performance and personality. I also love the leather interior and the shift knob. Details like this and the full length handle that adjust for and aft for the seats brings the overall impression of quality and class up several notiches. I just hope they can resolve the paint issue for me.

I have had my 2004 3S for a year now and with 22000+ miles, I still REALLY enjoy my 3.. I have had a few warranty items done, but I don't think it is excessive given this was the first year for a new car..All in all, I have been very Happy with my 3 and don't regret my purchase..

I finally got the Mazda 8/27/05. I absolutely love the tiptronic shifting and have noticed a considerable difference in gas mileage from my Camaro that I traded in. Great handling and pretty roomy on the inside for a 6'5'' 300 lbs man. Overall, I really like it.

I drove a SCION the night before I bought my 3...I felt very confined sort of in it....glad I chose the 3 (drinks)

I got my Mazda a little over a year ago, I still love it, a lot actually. Since I got the tint, and the exhaust and the spoiler I love it more and more..

I'd love mine even more if people would stop HITTING it every time I leave it in a parking lot.. I've had it since February and it's been hit twice already, and I wasn't even in it either time!.. Both times in the rear bumper so no dents, but nice black paintless patches shining on the white car..

Damn people don't know how to drive..
