How to wash, polish and wax a CX-5.........

Saturday, endly washing and polishing the CX-5.....the dealer has done its very best to clean and wax the car , so far so good, but that wax was disappeared immediatelly within two months.......but now the CX-5 has to be prepared much better even polishing......Car was cleaned at the wahbox with 80 Kg of washinggel....hahahaha........ after that cleaning with very much water and droving to the garage....Clayed with a mild claybar Meguiar`s Professional Blue and Supernatural by Dodo`s and polished with the DAP900 and M80 from Meguiar`s and a green soft finishing/polishingpad of Lake Country afterthat a little eraser to disgrease the surface. The color fels really smooth ! .......totaly no swirls ! After that topping the surface with Surf City Garage Barrier Reef Carnauba wax............duringtime maybe 6 weeks, maybe moonths, It was difficult to shoot some pics, because of the highly sun, it was not easy to take some realy good pictures..........Well here are the photo`s......

What do you use to clean the inside? The dashboard is almost a hardened rubber. I'm not quite sure what you use on it and the remaining interior for that matter. Any help or tips would be greatly appreciated!

Soapy water works great. Really. As for a dressing, I like Poorboys Natural Shine, Lexol and 303 Aerospace.

Like many others will tell you, 303 for the interior (and exterior) plastic parts. Doesn't impart any greasiness or shine (well, very slight shine), protects from fade, hardening and cracking.

I used to own a red 03 Protege 5 and the paint was perfect. No op at all. Mazda is making great strides in most departments but failing in some.

Yes plastics can be waxed too. Or you can use a UV inhibitor such as Aerospace 303 to help prevent yellowing (thumb)

I was reading an article about Mazda coming up with a new technology that really improves the luster of it's paint specifically soul red. Basically, the technology allows the aluminum flakes in the paint to lie flat thus giving the paint a more radiant shine. Mazda doesn't have a problem investing in new technologies like this paint example but the problem is the final application of the water based clear. The cx-5 has the worst op of any car I've owned. And I owned a lot of cars.

Karel, @Wheelie heyyyyy alles goed met de CX ? Met die van mij wel.......wat een car !! Kleien dat is een ritueel dat je moet doen als je gaat polijsten, je haalt alle contaminaties van de lak af (ook de al aanwezige wax) vliegenpoep, vogeluitwerpselen enz enz. Ik detail al auto`s sinds 2006. Heb daar diverse diploma`s en getuigschriften van......na het kleien wordt de lak zo glad als een aal, ga je polijsten met een excentrische machine (DAP900) en eventueel een rotary (voor de CX niet nodig, geldt vaak alleen voor oudere lakken om die weer helemaal op te peppen........laatste stap is waxen (met de hand doe ik dat altijd...dat is de beste manier) Dan de trims (en daar hebben we nogal wat van op de CX !) die worden onderhouden door een plastic en rubber goedje, dat het palstic en rubber soepel en zwart ! houdt............

Mocht je belangstelling hebben om je CX-5 een keer goed te laten behandelen, dan kan ik misschien iets voor je betekenen (heb een garage in Nieuw Vennep, waar ik mijn toverkunsten uitoefen....) Ben met 1 auto 9 uren bezig, maar dan is ie nieuw !!!!! De wax die ik gebruik is ongeveer 5 maanden lang houdbaar, daarna gewoon een nieuwe laag !!!
