how to tell the difference

how do ou tell the difference between the intake and exhaust camshafts, they look exactly identicle......are they exactly the same??? or will it matter which i put where?? I need help asap as i plan to put these in soon

I think one says e on it or something for exhaust

One of them has a green sticker on it if I'm not mistaken. Do a search and you will find your answer.

I'm going to assume that the intake cam is next to the intake manifold, and the exhaust cam is next to the exhaust manifold. I could be wrong, but it seems logical to me.

That is correct. As said in an earlier post, the cams should have some type of marking on them. They are not interchangable, so you'll know if you have them backwards when the engine won't run.
