I'm rather scared of tearing up my new car. And i'm sure many of u guys have taken it apart to install an aftermarket headunit, carputer, etc. What exactly is the easiest way to access the back of the stock stereo if i were to be installing a speaker level converter (aka LOC)?

You gotta pull off the dash strip. do so by opening the glove box and pulling from the bottom. It is stubborn so you gotta use some force, but be careful. Once that is off, there are two screws holding in the head unit. Take those out and you can just pull the whole thing out.

damn that was easier than i thought lol. wow. didnt think it'd be simple. ok, im installing a speaker level converter, LOC. do u know by chance the wire to connect it to. i dont know what wire im looking for, and even if i did, i dont know the color codes of them.

okay so i found out first hand, scosche LOC's suck. i installed it, took it right out and returned it. i would put it on max volume, and would get less than half the power. waste of money. im buying a dash kit instead, here soon.

i was gonna warn you that there is a hook on one side of the dash trim. but it seems its too late for that.

I have to take my dash apart again soon when I install my analog clock, I find that its hard to see the digital clock sometimes.
