How to select Bluetooth Audio?

I've paired my iphone 3g (OS 3.0) with my 2009 CX-9. I've selected it as my bluetooth music player in the setup menu. When I play a song on the iPhone I'm given the option of choosing my Mazda as the audio output.

So how do I tell the mazda to play the bluetooth stream instead of aux, am/fm, cd, or sat? I've got the base radio (not the bose).

Is this possible?

do you have the NAV (GT Assist package)?

if so, you just press the "source" button and choose BT-Audio instead of AUX1.

No NAV. I just have the standard CD/Aux/Sat/Radio that comes in the Canadian GS.

Sounds like there is no way to have the stereo use bluetooth as a source?

If I recall correctly, if you have no NAVI, your CX9 has no BT Audio capability.
In other words, you must have the "Assist package" either with Touring or GT to have that capability
(which means you must have NAVI also - that's what I meant).

Okay, well the hands free setup allows me to pair a bluetooth music player. And my iPhone certainly sees the mazda as a viable A2DP output. I guess that there is just no way to actually play it through the head unit.

That kind of sucks... any way that I could run it through the SAT input?

FreeHeels,
the A2DP requires TWO channels of BT connections (to be stereo - L/R).
Most conversational BT only requires ONE channel.
It is OK. Don't feel bad.
A2DP sound quality is not something to be missed.
It is just convenient for short drives ('cause it drains battery quickly).

My Moto Rokr headset (w/ A2DP support) has not been used for a while now.
I don't miss it.
