how to ruin a perfect saturday morning

Just cruising down the George Washington Expressway making my way into Georgetown ...there is some huge backup going into Georgetown so I take an exit and end up around 21st & E street. I just stop to let some pedestrians pass on the GW campus area and, as soon as I get going again....the car stalls and cuts off. Felt like was out of gas and the engine stoped. I looked at my gauges and the water temp gauge was all the way up to H. So I pulled over to the side and let her cool off. First I thouht my piston rod buckled due to the heat..but there is no oil leak, no steam, no metal shredding noise. So after an hour or two I decided start it again. It turned but won't start running. I check the car out now that it's cooler. Checked the oil, and unscrewed the radiator cap to check and see if the oil had somehow seaped into the coolant due to the gaskets maybe melting....but nothing. I tried to start the car again and the same scenario took place. I am wondering now if it is electrical. So I unplug the battery and hope it resets everything...........but 10min later when I start it ...same thing. What do you think is wrong...(Terry) anyone...any thing similar occur on anyone elses car ? Oh yeah I just noticed under the fuse box that INJ OR FIP 30A fuse is blown. I replaced the fuse and started it up again and it blew the fuse.

Nice car:D
How is the rad hose looking? and your fluid ect? Perhaps its related to that or an electrical problem. If it is get it scanned and see what codes you are activating

I tried getting it while I was doing my pipe wraps, but it is too cluttered to get a good pic....unless I get underneath the car....but will get that soon...once I get this figured out..

maybe something ignition related? Did you run it hard before that?

I think by scanned terry ment at auto zone, where they plug something in and read the cars code to see whats wrong, not scan a pic. I think at least. And if not maybe you should try that anyway.

So if I take it to autozone they can hopefully scan and fix my problem...? Hmmm need to find one that is close by. This problem is driving me nuts....yeh kooldino I did get on it on the expressway but nothing happened then. When I got inside the city it just suddenly stalled.

Maybe your thermostat is dead? But if that was the case then it would have started back up after you let it cool...right?

Actually am still troubleshooting the issue...indeed if the thermostat is not operating correctly why would that effect the INJ OR FIP 30A fuse. When I started it back up again...the new fuse I put in popped as well. I wonder where the short is...that is causing this misfire....I also tried an oldschool trick of sticking the screw driver in one of the sparkplug wires and cranked it to see if there was a spark.....and nothing....So am trying everything until I take it to the stealership tommorow. I can see them now....."Ahh....there is something wrong with your car(laugh)muh, ha, ha, ha......"

What is the fuse listed for, or do we have no clue? Or is the answer just INJ or FIP? Tracing it back seems to be the way to go, but man that sounds F'd up. Sorry to hear that.

Well there was really nothing done to my car yet ....heck I don't even have my Greddy EGT hooked up to it yet....So....beats me. I just dropped it off at the stealership today...the guy so far said that it could be the aftermarket ECU A/F trick I have setup...I sorta put the wires back on but not coming out of the shielded port that the plate has for the bundle of wires coming out of the ECU. So there could be a crimp or far worse it could have sliced one of the wires....but on just a cursory glance it looked fine so far....am waiting the techs feedback....they already charged me 100bucks just to look at it.

I cant believe you didnt see what path the fuse was in before you took it in.

BTW, that was not a flame. I just wondered why you didnt take a precursory look at it yourself before you took it to the stealership.

The dealership will NEVER see my car unless it's for TSB's or warranty repairs.
