I have a 07 mazda speed 3 Gt

but i cant seem to reprogram a remote becuase i cant find the stupid door switch.... i found some other threads mentioning there is a door switch but i think that was for a protege. Has anyone reprogrammed an extra remote? if so what was the process and do we have a door switch? thanks

To activate the door switch you just need to open/close the door. Here's the process for programming remotes.

Have all the remotes that you are going to be using, maximum of 3, with you when you do this programming as all of them have to be reprogrammed into memory.

Step 1: Open driver side door and leave open.

Step 2: Lock and Unlock the drivers door using the power door lock switch on the door

Step 3: Insert key into the ignition.

Step 4: Turn Key to ON position and return to Lock (off) position. Do this 3 times within 10 seconds. LEAVE key in the ignition in Lock (off) position.

Step 5: Close and open the drivers door 3 times. Leave door open after this step

Step 6: ECU should respond by locking and unlocking the doors once.

Step 7: Press any button on remote #1 twice. ECU responds by locking and unlocking the car doors.

Step 8: Additional remotes, repeat Step 7 for up to 3 remotes total.

Step 9: Remove the key from the ignition and the ECU will respond a final time with a series (about 4) of door locks and unlocks. You're done!

racekar- Did it work? I'm thinking about getting a flipkey for my MS3, I wonder if this work for that.

If you're in the US then there's currently no way to get a flip key on the MS3 (or any 2007 or newer 3). In '07 Mazda changed the keyless entry system and no flip remotes will program into it. We briefly thought we could get it to work by swapping out the KEU for that of a Canadian 3 but that ended up not working.

To clarify the key portion will program fine and will start the car. The remote portion won't program to the ECU and will not work.
