How to replace chrome trim around grille?

:
2016 Mazda CX-9
Hey everyone,

How would I replace the chrome trim surrounding the front grill on a CX-30? Would I have to remove the entire front bumper, or could I just snap off the chrome trim?

Thank you,
Shawnee

Do you have the repair manual on how to remove the front bumper?
Sorry, I do not but there are YouTube videos out there that will give you the steps. If I am using them for reference, I like to watch several before diving in.

Yup, that’s exactly what I did. It was so easy taking off the bumper. I think the hardest part was trying to remove the the cables, but other than that, it was simple. Took me less than 30 minutes to remove the entire front bumper.

Post up some before and after pics!

The only reason I found this out is my wife is thinking of getting a CX-30 to replace her CX-50. She loves the aero gray color after seeing it in person on the dealers lot but the loss of cargo area may keep her in another CX-50 or CX-5. She wants black wheels and the black grill trim but is not a fan of the brown stitching on the interior of the turbo trims. So she told me if she gets a non-turbo trim I have to 'fix' those things. lol
