Here's a little diagram to make your own Voltage Clamp found at miataturbo.net

This resembles the Voltage Clamp made by Flying Miata...

i no way i'm posting this to replace a quality product made by FlyingMiata.com and sold by Protegegarage.com and Speedcircuit.com

Here is the diagram:

parts could be bought from RadioShack.

The hardest part to find is the Pressure sensor.
I was given a part number by the author of this how-to, who actually sells them for 60$ shipped, but the part is only sold in big quantities forcing me to source other parts. The person i contacted at World Magnetic suggested i tried a different part for my purposes from DigiKey and he was kind enough to provide me with a part number.

Parts List:
LED (any color you'd like) LED itself without resistor included
1K Ohm Resistor
7K Ohm Resistor
470 Ohm Resistor
5K Ohm Potentiometer with multiple turns for fine tuning.
Pressure Switch:
Digi-Key Part Number 384-1012-ND
Unit Price: $14.36
Manufacturer Part Number: 9011-904
Description SENSOR ADJ PRESS SW 1.0-4.0 PSI

everything else you should be able to find at radioshack or soemthing

enjoy...

in no way i will be responsible if you blow up your car into tiny pieces that not even my grandma, who can do a 1000 piece puzzle of a clear blue sky in one hour would be able to put it back together. If you aint' got the ball, walk away!

ooh sorry

it helps people running piggy backs

basically, if you don't know what a voltage clamp is, chances are you don't need one...so your cool

just ordered my pressure sw...off to the "tandy" store tonight...gonna put my mad electrical skilz to work!(flash)

i actually assembled one, just haven't been able to test it
i think i got an exra resistor installed that i got to remove tho

cool, i won't be able to test my for a week or so...waiting on the begi rrfpr

should have the begi next week some time, wiring up the voltage clamp tonight...can i install that in the cab of the car i wonder?

Bazooka Joe .. if could post detailed instructions on this install I would be in your debt forever. As you already know, I'll be doing this shortly and I'd love to have some instructions so I don't mess it up.

sure, but i haven't got to it yet...was away all last week and going away again for a long weekend the next 2 weeks.... :(

i will assume that ill have to get a trim pot for 4.8 or 4.9v

Have you looked at the hobbs pressure switches? ive been told the switch we require is sold at napa for $20 or so.

is not 4.8 or 4.9 V

is 0.4

ZERO POINT FOUR

otherwise, you'll blow your O2 and your ECU

voltages are too high at 4v

I'm still talking about an fcd here.

i was under the impression that the maf sensor reached fuel cut at 5v, requiring me to cap it at 4.9v.

I'm already aware of the 02 voltages.

Well, the best it has been explained to me, is alot like what you've drawn out there, less the resistances.

A really nice fellow by the name of Genius once disected a joeP unit, and had told me how it worked. But since then i have lost the instructions to create one of these again.

Though i am suprised the no one has posted a how to on making one of these units. I do understand that they open the doors to people potentialy harming thier motors, but hey, Darwins law.
