How-to: MSP FSB Install

Perfect timing. I am going to be installing the msp swaybar on my P5 next weekend along with the awr rear motormount. You used your stock front endlinks with no problem right?

Did this make it easier to do the rear motor mount cause I will be doing that also? One more thing why did you need to remove the shift rod from the shifter side?

You will need to remove the rear mount to change the FSB. It might be a bit easier to do the rear motor mount if you have loosened/removed a bunch of the surrounding parts but I did the motor mount first so not really sure.

You may not have to remove the shift rod from the shifter side but it was hanging down in the way and was only 1 bolt to remove so I removed it.

right--same endlinks in front for MSP and non-MSP bars

Hmm didnt see that mentioned but im going to put in the poly ones anyway. I will just start taking stuff loose till I get the slack i need lol.

Got my front bar installed today the motor mount is the hard part but I know the trick to it now.

What problems are you running into please tell us.
well I took all the bolts off, unbolted everything that it said to unbolt and tried pulling down on the subframe, and it's not budging..i even took a crowbar to pry it, and nothing happens. I just don't understand.

figures I get this s*** after i put the motor in...this install would have been a billion times easier with the motor out.

Did you take the bolt out through the rear motor mount? Or what about the bolts on the sides ill show you a pic in a min.

These bolts you will want to put a jack under the crossmember also.

i have the jack under the motor, but i didn't take the downward bolts out. ..i guess that's what it is.

thanks man. I'll maybe try it tonight.

Yeh I had to take those out and just drop the whole thing down makes it much easier. You dont need the jack under the motor you need it on the crossmember the motor will be held in fine with the side mounts.

cross member...hmm.. i guess I'm not exactly sure what you mean by that..although i did do a motor swap, i'm not familiar with some of the parts.
