How to help: Installing an MSP lip on my P5?

:
2003 Mazda Protege5
This weekend I won an MSP lip on eBay, already painted in laser blue, and it should arrive ready to install later this week.

Now I just need to know how to do it.

I know a number of you have installed the MSP lip on your P5s, but after some cursory searching, I couldn't find a how-to for the process. So if you've ever put one on, tell me what you know. Tips, tricks, tools, tutorials, do I need any special mounting hardware, do you use tape? Bolts, grommets? All of the above? How is the lip installed from the factory?

I'm hoping it arrives Friday, and I'll get pics when I'm installing, but until then...

Anybody?

I was thinking about it and i wonder if it would be easier to take the bumper off, install the lip, then reinstall it as one piece. I wouldn't have worry about holding it in place to get it mounted straight, and if any holes need to be drilled i can do it much easier than if it were on the car.

The only thing i'll have to worry about is getting the bumper back on the car straight.

Still open to advice.

Its very straight forward. Just take out the bolts/clips in the bumper, put the lip on, and replace bolt/clips.

I would go and get yourself some 3M double sided tape before the lip comes. If there isn't any signs of it on the lip, it goes around the outside edge on the top and sides.

Have one on my '5. First one never fit well (poor installation new by professional shop after baby took a hit and was sorted out).
Latest one installed after a curb slider on ice broke both the lip and bumper cover. Same shop, different guys--perfect fit, finish.
Critical to fit is adhesive, particularly around sides where lip curves back to wheel opening!

I got some automotive grade adhesive double sided tape from amazon. Hopefully it's strong enough, it says it's for applying bumpers, door guards and badging. I'll keep that in mind, thanks!

Went on without much issue. Got my girlfriend to help me get it around the bumper. Paint matched beautifully.

This lip was actually auctioned on ebay months ago, it went for much more than I wanted to pay. Then, week before last, i got an email from ebay that said it had been relisted. I guess the buyer from the first auction backed out. Anyway, i kept my eye on the auction, hoping i would be able to snatch it up before too many people found it and bid.

I got lucky, at the last second i put in a bid for a few more dollars than the high bid and won. I'm really happy with how it turned out. $200 shipped for an OE bumper, already painted, I feel like I stole the thing, considering there are people buying replica bumpers for $400 unfinished.

LOL, thanks.

Those are 16x7 Rota GT-3s. On the stock rubber. When I bought the car, the dealer had taken a brand new set of 16" OEM wheels and tires off of a Mazda3 and put them on the car. So I just reused them until they wear out.

The offset on them is a bit high, so they rub occasionally on the back fenders, but I love how the sit flush with the body panels, very beefy look to em.

They were actually a bit of a lucky strike to buy too. I saw them on another P5 here on the forum and just loved em. So I did a search of craigslist. Somebody out in Cali had just put a set of them up for sale, correct color and bolt pattern. $400 shipped to me, they had never even been mounted on tires. Blue anodized lugs off eBay to really set it off. :)
