How-to: Fogs always on [PICTURES]

i did this mod today and think i did everything right and its not working i have a 14g wire from the cut red wire to the striped green wire and the other side of the red wire taped off. it is not working the fogs are working just like they use to so i didnt mess anything up. and nothing else had change so i didnt use the wrong wires. anyone no what the problem is. maybe i just didnt do good enough connections.
also j/w what purpose does the red wire do

make sure the brights aren't on - the fogs won't turn on if the switch is in the high beam position

Forgive me if this is stupid, but does the other end of the factory red wire just remain open/taped off?

I am thinking with one of those little blue wiretap thingies around the green wire, then to the short red wire (white connector) would accomplish the same thing minus the stripping and taping. Agree/disagree?

Does it have to be 16 Gauge wire? Getting ready to do the mod and I have some left over speaker wire, is that ok to use??

hmm i would like to do this mod as well but are you sure it doesnt work in cad p5s. has anyone else tried/done this in their cad p5

hum I have a canadian P5 with Drl and stuff. i did this mod 1 week after i bought the car and it works great! maybe you've omitted something. second check everything

After the mod you are able to:

ALL lights OFF, even the "day running lights" (DRL) are OFF, so NO lights at all
Fogs ON with parking lights,
Fogs ON with low beams and parking lights,
Fogs ON with high beams and parking lights

im pretty sure i did everything right and i have found on other threads it doesnt work on can p5 but if it worked on yours i duno what to say. i found a can p5 mod for this but its aot more work and i dont knowmuch about electrical things

The post from Bumble G is complete for DRL/Fogs...americans dont have drl but canadian p5 does...so i think that you have made something wrong.

Have you installed a switch? have you second check all your grounds? I got trouble when i done this mod and i finally discover it was a bad ground.

Some people here have made this mod in 15-20 minutes. With my poor knowledge of electricity and stuff...I managed to do it in....3 hours (yupnope)...and a 6-pack of brew (friday)

3 hours? Was this on the Canadian? I mine, american, in under 20 minutes.

I'll be doing the white pro5 tonight. Just got some new yellow bulbs. Also, I HIGHLY suggest bending the little shield in the housing all the way up. It makes the fogs useful

this this mod yesterday.. tested it after the wiring and works great...

but after i solder it,, it stop working completely

did i blew the fuse??

(i have HID on fog) did i mess-up my HID??

unsolder it and see if that fixes it, if not then you prob blew a fuse
