Hi everyone,
I have a tear in my dashboard and need some suggestions on how to get it fixed. It was like this when I bought it. Please see my pics: IMAG0035.webpIMAG0036.webp. Thanks for looking.

The part in question is removable... you have a few different options here:

1. Get that piece from a junk yard and swap.
2. Pull that part and re-wrap with your material of choice.
3. Find the DG carbon fiber cover and put that over it.

You can also try those repair kits that can be found at any automotive store, but I am not sure how well they work.

how the hell do you rip that part out?!
i tried (not too hard..) to pull it out a few months back because i was going to do a custom piece there with the DC emblem :)

I haven't done it myself, but my guess is there are some sort of nuts holding it on from the backside... or else it is plastic welded. Either way, it would be a pain to get to them.

lmao.. yeah.. there were some screws in the bottom part of it (where the top of the glove box would be when closed) but that didn't seem to work.
oh well... when the weathers better i'll have to retry it.

Take out the airbag and glove box to access the screws holding it in...there are around 6 of them...screws/bolts...cannot remember exactly...fairly easy to do...it is a piece that actually tears quite often for some reason or other...

No problem...now good luck finding one...you will need it...the one I last sold fetched a good ammount...

I don't need a new one, I just wanna fibre glass the one I have now to make a glossy finish with the DC emblem on it :)

You could fix it with this fiberglass cover that I have removed from my car. Just paint it up, double sided tape it up and go. The MP5 badge is not on it either, just the fiberglass. PM if interested in it and I can take some fresh pics of it off the car for ya. Here's a pic of it when it was on the car...............

Thanks for all of the tips. The DG carbon fiber stuff seems to be the way to go. Does anyone think that I could wrap my front end with that stuff (like a bra)? My front end has a few scrapes...

DG carbon fiber is real carbon fiber, not the fake 3M vinyl. I would just get a paint job, and not wrap the front end of your car. But it you are in need of cover up for cheap, you could always do the spray on plastic dip from a rattle can. Nice rubber texture that protects, and if you don't like it, it peels right off.
