How to cure Cel/Mil from removing cat with Non-Fouler

i threw a CEL yesterday and it was the 2nd one too after like 1000 miles w/ the non fouler. what did u clean it w/? i am gonna clean mine hoping it wont come back

Just some carb cleaner.

i read not to use any chemicals on it? idk. what about maf cleaner, i already have some of that? i searched the forum and everyone that got this code made it sound like the sensor was bad and needed to be replaced, not just a bad reading, since it says no activity. :(

DTC (Codes)
P0140
O2 Sensor CKT No Activity
(Bank 1 Sensor 2)

I got it checked this morning and got the light cleared so i am waiting to see if it comes back on, so far it hasn't but it's only been like 25 miles

i found these on ebay, but idk what the difference is. one is 4 wire the other 1 wire and yet another one is two wire and still another 3 wires... which do i need? :( if these work i think i might actually get one

i think it's the 4 wire i need but not sure

is there anything i can use to loosen the O2 sensor so i can get the non foulers on. it's on there REAL tight

a big wrench. it has to be on tight or exhaust will leak. i had to have a friend to it. it just drug me on the ground when i tried. lol

same haha i was using an adjustable wrench but i think i was just starting to strip the nut on the sensor. is there any kind of stuff i can buy so it will loosen it a bit? or is that a bad idea.

There is a special socket wrench that you can buy at the autoparts stores. Its like a deepwell socket with a slot milled in the side so you can put the socket on and the wire comes out the slot. Then, you can use a torque wrench or a breaker bar to loosen it if it is really tight.

ok........read it all

I put Tsudo's on my 1.8. After about 100 miles it threw a CEL. Im sure that I drilled it out correctly, Im sure I did not touch the sensor and did not twist the wires. THere is a leak at the only male connection because Tsudos are famous for not having that correctly alligned. But wouldnt that throw a CEL right away?

Also, i was told to buy a 5/8 flared valve coupler, could not find it but found something like it, but when I went to go put it on, it looks like I dont need it.

ANY COMMENTS WOULD BE GREAT, I want to get my baby back on the road.

THanks!

just installed the non foulers. Did exactly as instructed. Cel came on after ~30 mins of driving. Not too impressive. I am going to try swapping in a spare sensor i have later this week, but it seems odd for my sensor to just stop working.

ok....
little update
The CEL was thrown from another set of gauges that I put in my car. The code read P0118, something about a coolant temp sensor or something. Anyways. Switched back to the original gauges and everything works fine now. Been about 300 miles and no CEL related to the O2 sensor.

mine came on after about 2000 miles, had it cleared and havent seen it since. so sometimes the ECU brain farts i guess, idk. but get it cleared and maybe it will be ok. if the hole you drilled is too small you will choke the o2 sensor and get a code saying the 2nd sensor is getting no reading

So if I removed both cats; with a ractive head with 1 bung for o2 sensro, and a midpipe with no catalytic converter.

I would have to use the Non-fouler trick on BOTH sensors correct? I read through the whole thread and it was never clear on that.

I did the non-fouler trick today. So far about 50kms and nothing. But I'll be sure if it works within 1000kms :P

But now my problem is I used the nonfouler on the catless midpipe from MAM and its right next to the floor boards and now when the exhaust moves it hits the floor board. Uggh.. Maybe I should get another bung welded on somewhere.

Any ideas? big huge rubber to absorb the impact? lol..

You said its a catless midpipe right??? just take of off.. flip it 180 degrees and problem is solved. Now its pointing down to the ground. I'm not sure why you have a non fouler on the mid pipe anyways.. On the header.. there is two 02 censors.. one close to the manifold.. the other closer to the ground. You should of installed in on the one closer to the ground.
