Ok So I just started Autocross a few weeks ago. I got my SCCA membership and now I would like some magenets for my car. The price quote I got...$60 bucks. Im not cheap, I just dont see paying that amount of money for something that i would use once a month. So... I went down to Office Depot picked up some Magnetic Printer paper....Like so.

So after that I primed Microsoft Office Word and played around with the sizes that I could use for the numbers and letters while adhering to the SCCA rule book. http://cms.scca.com/documents/Solo_R...Solo_Rules.pdf

Minimum of 8 high with 1.25 stroke for number
Miminum of 4 high with 0.75 stroke for letters

So when deciding on the font and size I used the Transformers Font (which could be found here...http://www.dafont.com/transformers.font

Once you get the size that you think is right test it out onto a regular sheet of paper before you use the magnetic sheets.

As for the sizes for the letters the size is 400 you can fit up to two letters on each page. So if you are *SP you would want to spread it out so that two letters fit on a page. (like so)

As for the numbers you will have to go with 800. Go into the page setup and set all the margins at 0 or else the numbers will not fit onto the page.

Once you have them printed out you can cut them up and they should be ready to rock.

Mods...im not sure if this is the right place to put this...
Thanks!

I didn't see it till right now. Looks like I have a project for this weekend! Awesome right up dude. Have you tried the magnetic power on the track? (do they fall off?)

I drove around the block the kinda test them out...They held on...but it was just around the block. The next AutoX event isnt till september 27 so i wont know till then. lol

Damn. Thanks for the reminder. I need to make another '0' for the one I lost at the last event. I'll have a look at the Office-Depot magnets. The Home Depot vent covers are just too thin.

Nice write-up!

Sweet! I'll look into this for my AutoX numbers; just so you know, your first link is coded in wrong...

Ah yup...bad request...lol Ill fix it when I get home from work. lol Thanks!
