$55 - Monster Cable 1000watt Amplifier Wiring Kit
$20 Monter Cable XLN 40 foot Speaker Cable Spool
$329 ( they gave me a $50 discount because of delayed shipping of 8 weeks ) -
7-inch LCD in dash Monitor[url] and [url=http://www.mp3playerstore.com/stuff_you_need/dvd/mp-2.htm] Supertek MP2 DVD/SVCD/VCD/MP3/TV-tuner
$79.00 Alpine KCA-801B Ai-net Auxillary Input Adapter
$179.00 - Street Glow Gold Series Red underbody Neon kit
$1029.99 - Sony IP55 MicroMV camcorder
Now I realize that the camcorder shouldn't count - but I bought it to take pictures of my car, and for when I go to the track to watch my friends cars make runs in the Quarter Mile. Besides, 90% of the time, it's in my car anyway.
Oh, and Last of all
$300 - Viper 550esp Alarm with Remote Start
Funny thing, just went through a bunch of boxes to dig up the reciepts, and I found 3 boxes of ammo ( .22 long rifle, .38, .357 ) - Guns were a short lived geek toy - all clean and polished in my closet now.
Yeah so, short of oil changes every 3000 miles with Mobil 1, and new filters and tire rotation. That is everything - which totals: $2851.58 - plus the $400 I gave my friend James for installing it all. I'm a Network Administraor, I don't work on cars anymore. My best friends husband is my mechanic, and I know way too mnay people who do car audio for a living. Most of the stuff I got at a decent discount. In fact, the only thing I paid MSRP for was the damned Aux adapter from Crutchfield - and if I had waited, I could have used my friends discount code, but it was like 4am when I ordered it.
So, my 2002 ES protege is completely bone stock - I keep looking at putting a Turbo in it, either the kit being talked about by the user on this board PERFWORKS, or just going with the FlyinProtege kit. But I'll wait until I pass the warranty period on my car. In the meantime, I'll wait for my insurance points to drop off back down to 0. They were at 14, now I've got 4.
Being a geek - expensive
Showing up at the Matrix Reloaded Premier 2 hours early, and letting people watch the movie in your car - priceless.
-edit- I forgot to add the 1 Farad StreetWires Cap, I think I paid like $80 for it
