Same here on those two vehicles I was amazed at how many people were buying extended warranties on the Forester because of the CVT and other issues seems like if you need to spend an additional couple thousand to sleep at night then the vehicle is not worth it not to mention an big increase in owner cost. It's funny you say that. I really wanted a '14 Forester XT and started calculating extended warranty costs. I finally had a moment of clarity, like "what am I doing?!?" and came back to the CX-5.

Really like the vehicle but what I was reading about some of the problems as well as not obtaining the EPA rating not worth it maybe after the several years in production or if they offer an manual transmission I will explore it again.
