How much boost???????

LOL cut the guys some slack. Welcome newb. These cars don't take that well to boost or the motor doesn't. With the stock rods that is.. A few people have ran up to 20psi but that's asking for it. Most people do well around 8-9psi 10 being the limit, even then you might blow. Search the blown motor threads.

How much boost can you run on a stock engine without blowing it????????
Have anyone tried the obx turbo header?????????

I would not go over 10psi. There are some members that have run 12 but not for a long time. You might want to invest in a J&S knock sensor if you plan on running hi boost

the obx header is not for the stock turbo. i would not run 10 without intake, exhaust, intercooler, and ems

just dont go over stock boost without an ems and the basic bolt-ons... the car i test drove ran 20psi...... some scary **** right there... you want whats safe for your car man

thanks

hey guys thanks for your help!!!!!!! my car is not an msp is a lx model but im going to run a turbo setup!!!!!!!!!what about the obx header????????

If you want a complete kit, with quality parts go with the hiboost kit.As far a obx i havent heard to many good things about it, heard its low quality.

is your car a 1.6 or a 2.0 liter? Because you can boost a hell of a lot more on a 1.6 than a 2.0 stock for stock. on the 2.0, without engine management but WITH all necessary supporting mods, i wouldn't do more than 8 if you wanna keep it around. With a decent computer, 10 should be ok well-tuned but there are always exceptions. People have indeed blown MSP's on stock boost, stock car. If you wanna toy with it, do it right, take care of it, and be prepared for the *possible* consequences.

hey man thanks for our advice and its a 2.0!!!!!!!here is a recent pic

I Have Already Bought: Hks Ssqv, Tial 38mm Red Wg, Arp Head Studs, Act Clutch Kit, Aem Tru Boost Gauge And Controller, Aem Wideband, Obx Header And And A Precision Turbocharger!!!!!!

I run 18psi daily on the stock internals, no issues with proper engine management. But the EJ205 is designed for boost. The FS-DE, not so much.
