you could, but i wouldn't without forging the internals first. I wouldn't go past 7-8 without forging first. There's a sticky in the Problems and Help section about problems and solutions. Read up!

also, see you're in york. I'm about 40 mins below you, down near towson. Welcome to the forums!

I would suggest leaving the boost level alone until you get supporting mods. Intake, exhaust, colder plugs, and as you said an upgraded intercooler would be a good start. Though even with full bolt ons it's risky to go above 9 psi unless you have a very good tune and maybe some meth.

welcome to the forums...
my first idea is not to bump your thread twice in 20 mins. this isnt a honda forum: were very civil around here, and we dont have more than 5 engine/tuning threads get started a day.
if people want to answer your question, they will. bumping your thread will just piss off those of us who do know the answer to the point we dont want to help.

as for increasing boost, heres my general rule of thumb. start at 6 psi, and add one psi for each of the following things:
-upgraded intercooler+ BOV + intake
-upgraded midpipe
-fuel management
-timing management
-upgraded downpipe OR exhaust manifold

do not run a cheap-ass $10 MBC with these cars - they will spike, and you will not have a motor. similarly, i would not exceed my recommendations unless you have 3-5 grand saved up for an engine swap. these cars are great drivers cars - they respond pretty well to mods and are not difficult to turn into a fun car in the twisties, but they are not a forgiving mod platform. if you want something you can throw random parts at, forge your engine or buy an SR20. just being honest...

thankx for the advice how much would rod and pistons run me and what brand have them available?(ill keep in mind about the posting lol)

First off...Welcome to the forums.

I dont know how "fast" you want your new car to be but the mods that yudkib named will give you very noticeable gains. Your car will never be a sti or evo, but these are still very fun cars. If you want power, plan on spending something close to what you bought the car for. If you want fun, a few bolt ons and some type of piggy back management will make for a fun and RELIABLE, let me stress, RELIABLE daily driver. IMO, I would go management first, like an ssafc. Then as you add mods like cai, manifolds and exhaust, then you can tune as necessary.

And always remember, the search button and google are your friends.

rods, pistons, seals, gaskets, studs, bearings, and basic head work (like a valve job) typically will run 4k for your average build - covers parts, labor, and machining.
you can build for a little cheaper (~3000) if you forgo some things like headwork to pinch pennies, or you can spend 5k for something balanced and lightly ported.

pistons are CP, arias, and wiseco. rods are k1 and pauter.
cp, wiseco, and pauters stuff will NEVER break, arias tend to crack, and k1 is not rated for as much hp.

ok thankx again,,so for mazda's there nothing else available to tune only piggiys and apexi ?? for example honda's use ectune and crome programs straight of ur laptop and burned into a chip installed in ur ecu is there anything similar? i have a apexi safc 2 that i have had in my garage for a while never used it, any opinions about apexi tuners?

no.

they dont work.

the ECU has a nice habit of learning around most forms of EMS, so you have to do goofy things to trick it. thats why people run the split second units... those, the AEM FIC, unichip, megasquirt, and standalones are your only options.

Dam ok,,no wonder i hear an old guy that had a 93 mazda 323 running it with honda wiring and ecu, but thatz something i would never think about doing lol,so the apexi safc that i have is not even worth my time to install..

check out protegegarage.com and *************.com for a pretty good rundown of available parts for this car.

if you just wanna have fun with it, there is a sticky in this forum about mods for a DD msp. if your wanting to go a little more serious, start reading build threads where people go forged and swap the turbo ect.

these cars definitely aren't as cheap or easy to work on as honda's but they do come with their own prestige ;) Mazda's aren't particularly well known for pure speed in a straight line, but with all the bolt on's and maybe upgraded springs, you'll be grinning pretty damn big on the backroads. but you already knew that from the test drive, or you wouldn't have bought the thing.

welcome!!!
how many miles are on ur mp3. i wouldnt even think about turboing the car if its over 100k. maybe if u are the original owner and didnt beat on it but if it was me id rather be safe then putting the turbo kit on, then having the engine go in 2 months. shoot my msp is at 108xxx and im getting anxious to rebuild.
