Back when I had my yellow, I had a cop following me through town once. I pulled onto a road where the speed limit is 25. It's a pretty long road with a double yellow line and I could probably do 50 on it and still be safe. I don't go over 25 at all. After about half a mile he throws the lights on. I start to pull over and all he does is pass me and turn the lights off. I guess he got tired of looking at my big spoiler. (silly)
yeah man I had a cop car follow me on one of my favorite back roads... his only reason for being there was me so I just did the limit... a little less even. the wing must be copnip... they are crazy attracted to it.

I think I got the dumbest ticket of all times. I was in the right turning curb lane coming off a freeway exit. There where 0 cars on a divided highway that I was turning onto. The cop was sitting under the underpass and pulled me over because I made an illegal right turn on red. I guess the city recently put up a sign that said no turn on red and the police where trolling under the overpass waiting for people to mess up. This was may only ticket in the last 6 years and I was extremely pissed. I know I was in the wrong, but was headed to my rehersal for my wedding and had a ton of things on my mind and a ticket was the last thing I wanted. I really I was pulled over because the cop saw the wing becuase he kept looking over my car when writing the ticket probably looking for someway to burn me. At least getting married dropped our total insurance for 2 down to $400 every 6 months.

Damn! I think I need to move to Ohio... I pay 266/mo for full coverage.
Well, you have to remember that I did not have any tickets in the last 5 years prior to this one which hasn't hit yet, been in 0 accidents, I'm married, and the wife has a perfectly clean record both in tickets and accidents. My insurance remained the same as before I was married with only my car, plus now I have 300/300/100 coverage which is pretty high.

Sorry I was tired when I posted that, but yes I agree with you. A similar thing happened to me in my Hondata. I was going along and a guy in the lane traveling opposite as me turned left right in front of me. I had a broken nose, a totalled car (I totalled his van, so I felt pretty good when I heard about that) and all he got was a "failure to yield while turning left" ticket.
The reason I posted that was I was thinking about my friend that hrydoplaned into a telephone pole. He was the only person on the road and the cop still gave him a ticket.

ticketing when noone else is involved = gay

I've got the same coverage... no tickets in 3, which Progressive was interested in and no accidents... Miami insurance sucks

i forgot about this thread... i got pulled over the other day for going 24 in a 20. (notcool) but i didnt get a ticket

In my old civic I got like 5 tickets, was getting nasty-grams from the insurance people...

Since beginning to autocross, and buying the msp, I've had none. Part of it is speeding "smarter", but also there's been times I thought I was nailed for sure, but no cherries, I think they just hate the civics. Now I'm over 25, have a home with the same company, and all my tickets are gone, so full coverage on the brand new car is only $90.

Best story - Coming home from work, dude in a big white molester van starts getting all super aggressive with me. I thought he was trying to run me off the road, and decided driving the msp meant not having to put up with that crap. =] Punched 'er and left the van in the dust... nice clear road, so I got to about 110 when I saw a cop gaining on me QUICK, (musta made his day!) so I pulled over before he even got up to me. I explained what was going on, and he just let me go! He said I shoulda turned off, but I figured that kinda driving was even more dangerous on city streets, and he understood. He said "I clocked you going about 90, but I KNOW you were going faster than that!" =]

I haven't gotten any tickets in my car but my friend did lol .He got busted going 92 in a 65 on the highway but told the cop a pretty good story and got away with 5 over. This was right after I put on the downpipe and raised the boost so he was having a little to much fun lol...

how much was the ticket? i've heard of a few people in FL getting those tickets

well i don't know but i think is going to be $60 to $70

that's stupid. everyone should adopt my new proposal...

every car has a green light (not blinking or strobe) on the front dash board and on the back "dash board" and whenever someone sees a cop they turn on their "cop indicator" and the cops cant do anything about green lights.
