How is the MS3's ride? Bad back here.

Hello,

I am still pondering the thought of the Mazdaspeed 3, but have yet to drive one since the closest MS dealer is 150 miles away.

One thing I would like to know, because of my bad back, is: How is the ride?

Having owned a few dropped cars in the past, as well as a few high performance suspensions, I know what a stiff ride feels like.

But just how stiff or jarring is the ride on the MS3? I would be curious to hear from others that have a MS3 with a sensitive back, or perhaps from those who have driven the 3, and the MS3 and can compare.

Thanks, and Keep Zooming!

It is clearly a matter of personal choice, but I think the ride is a little stiff. However, you have to consider the car is designed to be a sports car, so that is to be expected. All things considered, it is smooth enough to be a daily driver, but if you are looking for a soft "Camry / Accord" style ride, you will be disappointed. Rough downtown city streets are just plain rough...

The ride is definately a little stiff, but the comfort of the seats offsets it some. My mom has a pretty bad back and she said that the ride wasn't as comfortable for her as her car (05 accord) but that it wasn't really bad. If you have ever driven in a stock srt-4 she said that she was much more comfortable in my Ms3 then the srt-4 I was lookin at. Hope that helps you some.

I agree, although I have had a few girls that love the ride...they have said...'wow this cars flys and yet the ride is so smooth...'

My wife has a stock '06 Mazda 3S GT and the only time I notice any significant difference in ride quality between her 3 and my Speed 3 are when going over speed bumps. Just riding around town, there's not much difference in ride quality, IMHO.

with 4500 miles on my car the suspension loosened up a bit and isn't nearly as bad as when I first got the car.

Many thanks for all of your replies! It is appreciated

speed 3 rides smooth, but for the first week or so my back was killing me...i guess it was because of the bucket seats and they make u sit upright and i was used to slouchin down poundin away the bass...it may bother u for a bit but im fine now and it rides good.
