How fast do you want your MSP to be?

So what other platforms gear sets are good for a big HP car? GTX gears and what else, how much are GTX expected to hold up to?

I'm hoping 215 to 220 whp now with my new intake mani. I think a tune of the afc may be needed to achieve this. I want to stay with Evo's and Sti's from a roll of course. I have stayed with an Sti before. I would like to pull on a stock MS3 as well. This car is my daily driver so I need it to be reliable also. I would like to run a 13.8 or better with drag radials at the track.

i think youll run better than a 13.8 w/your mods. i ran a 14.30 untuned, street tires, and minus the pg intake mani, other than that i basically have the same mods as you. ohyea i ran at 10 psi with decent spin top of 1st and hit fuel cut in 3rd gear on that pass.

but yea, as for me im shooting for something over 200 after i get my mpi tuner installed. i dont really care right now about numbers, i not really shooting for anything until i get forged internals. plus my power is already more than adequate for autox.

Love your tow pic, I think we all have that one.

haha thanks. i need to change it tho ive been back on the road for awhile now, just hit the drag strip last night.

currently I have stock, like it decent, but its front wheel drive, have about 9g saved so far, will be at my goal in another 2 months. I plan on doing some mad scientist crap to find a way to make it rear wheel or awd, working with a local shop for ideas on how to do it there is a larg enough center tunnel(needs dinged out a little) for this to be done, the gas tank will need to be modded and also the trunk floor. 4g63 mounts are only off by a couple inches also, and plus you can block the diff to only feed the rear wheels or front wheels, that was one idea we thought about. or a miata engine, the miata's motor would require a bit more fabbing. the only deal with this is the rear suspension, it is weak in so many ways just by the looks of it. this is my toy car by the way. and this is the only time I will metion this retarded Idea until I start on it. hoping either way to be consistent 300-350 at first. but they call this stuff pipe dreams right, gotta be smokin crack to come up with it

but i figure, a twin engine 9 sec tiburon was made, this should be CAKE

Im happy with what i had when i had my car running strong at 10 psi, now the pos isnt running at all. When i was running 10 psi with the stock smic i was pulling on lightly modded 94-04 gt mustangs and running side by side with automatic ls1 cars from a roll so i was happy with it. should be a bit faster with the nology wires, catless pipe, and hiboost fmic kit.

220-ish for the time being. Gotta save up for internals, then hopefully closer to a reliable, consistent, and fun 250. must. stop. after. that..

im at 227whp and 251 torque at 11 psi with the hiboost FMIC, Injen CAI, and Vibrant j-pipe back exhaust.

But by the end of this weekend i have no idea where i will be at cause i added the GT28RS, Corksport S-Pipe, Splitsecond AFC, and a lightweight flywheel and some other lil goodies.

But my goal is to beat a newer GTO and a Modded SRT-4 in a 1/4 mile, almost had a GTO when i was a lil bit below 227 whp.

if only i had a dime for everytime i've heard this!

with the money spent you can get a AWD car and mod that s*** out of it.

wow really?? that's awesome! Then i change my goals lol -- i have the same s*** you do + unichip custom-tuned :). i guess i'll go for 230hp/250tq @ 10psi, and like... 260hp/tq @ 12-13psi?

good luck with the extra goodies :) that'll be fun (yippy)

I want 225whp without having to go with forged internals. I think the 250whp goal I had is not going to be accomplished without forged internals, and that is too much money to spend on this car. I was up to around 200whp at 9ish psi, so with 11psi and a good tune I should be able to reach my goals, but I need to build it up again as I sold all the parts that took me to that level.

whats your best 1/4 time?

i got a 14.3, and it was my first time at the track and the first time i have ever dragged before. so i was granny shifting cause at the time i didnt know about power shifting. but it was 14.3 @ 101 mph

whats your best 1/4 time?

you will most likely be higher then that, my A/F ratio readings were of the charts, they had to try and figure out how to make the graph get bigger so we could see how rich i was running. since you have the unichip you will not be running so rich.

You're going to need more than a split second afc to tune with since you put the gt28rs on..

I just want a reliable car when Im done with it.. Although, thats asking alot..
