How do you fix Wheel Hop

I had both in and the vibration drove me nuts. Only happened around 1500 rpms or lower. Was great to drive but man you felt it every where. Finally took rear one out and the hop is thier but not as bad, and the vibration was nearly all gone. Hopefully the LSD I will be putting in will reduce it some more

OK, let me ask this -- if I put front and back mounts in is the vibration bad enough to rattle the outside mirrors? How about the rear-view mirror?

I'm still scared to put just the front 1 in because I'm scared that will ruin the rear one faster.-I don't know.....

I've got springs. Still have wheel hop. Heck, I can't use more than 1/4 throttle in 1st in the morning w/o spinning(and hopping) like crazy.

Bored132, you also have the benefit of an LSD (as does the original poster). I wish I had the $$ for the groupbuy on them.

Girth, yes the mirrors vibrate. If my softer bushings ever come in I will toss them in and let everyone know the difference between the auto and manual AWR mounts.

Even with the added vibration, I will NOT take the rear mount out. I think the car feels much better with the mounts. And I drive 150 miles a day and about half of it is bumper to bumper. That's IMHO though.

I've been getting horrible wheel hop. All you that suggest anything less than motor mounts are crazy. Get springs? I've got them...Add more HP? How about 70+hp? Nope, still got the hop...Different tires? My Neo Gen's sure didn't get rid of it....My only hope is motor mounts. Doesn't AWR make two different compounds? I remember someone saying they had one set, and it rattled their car very bad. They sent them back and got a softer compound that worked better than stock. I just don't remember if it was a MSP owner or not...

Well, for what it's worth I have emailed a Protege racing team that sells 2 sets of Protege motor mounts. They sell "hard" poly mounts that look exactly like the AWRs and they also sell "softer" mounts but don't show a picture or say what material they're made of. I've asked them "how soft is soft" and what material they're made of....and if they sound semi-promising I'm going to get a pair and try them.

There was another company in the "for sale" section a while back that was going to make all 4 mounts and be a little softer than the AWRs...but Lord only knows when they'll be ready.

Girth the mounts you are talking about are more than likely just AWR's. He offers two different bushings (automatic=softer, manual=harder)

The mounts themselves are identical, but with different durometer(hardness) bushings. My softer bushings will be in friday(hopefully) and I will do my best to swap them out over the weekend, but I will be working outside and it's damn cold out!

does anyone with full coilovers (tein, jic) have wheel hop?

I have the JIC coilovers, and the wheel hop is definately still there, but it is not as bad. It definately accelerates a lot better fo the jump. IT is way stiffer feeling.
I also had the mounts from AWR front and rear, but I removed them because I was sick of people asking me what was wrong with my car, and why my steering wheel was shaking?

Nobody ever has asked me. Though I've only had two passengers (other than my kids) in the car since I installed them. Heck, I don't even think my wife has been in my car since I installed them-and that was like 3 months ago! And of the two passengers, one is a car guy-and he knew that I installed them.

Hmm, I have no life :wtf:

hmm cus if the stiffer mounts dont totally get rid of the bad hop i would assume its suspension.....

i was just wondering if anyone has done just the rear motor mount. tell us if there is a difference between just the front mount compared to just the rear mount.
