hotwheels

I find it hard to acquire good ones these days. The ones that matchbox and hotwheels come out with are all ricey and distorted. Whatever happened to making the cars look like the ones on the road?

I agree. Ever since Hot Wheels purchased Matchbox the dynamics have changed. Hot Wheels now have the more eccentric designs and Matchbox though limited in production has the conservative realistic designs but of less quality. In my last photo you can see the Matchbox Premiere collection. These are highly detailed realistic cars with rubber tires and special paint.

Photo shoot of my son's collection....as you can see many have been in numerous accidents. lol

Here's my Acura Integra collection. The black one in the center is a plastic model I built.

Nice! Did he help set them up?

Yes he did and was very excited. He kept remarking how he hadn't played with certain cars in a while (since they were buried). I lost him a couple of times as he would start counting how many Nascars he had, then how many police cars, etc. After the pics, we brought up his parking garage and from the looks of things martial law is in effect. lol

I want that pagani zonda in picture 4

Make me an offer I can't refuse (in best Mafioso voice). haha

Thought I'd bring this thread back.

Excellent collection, man. o.O

I never really "collected" die cast cars, I just bought the ones I liked. They were $.75 to $3.00 so they were hecka cheap. I haven't really bought any in a while, though. the last time I counted them, maybe 3 years ago, I had right at 1200 1/64th cars and around 30 1/18th cars...

Thx. Yea I admit it. I've been to a few flea markets and yard sales. Picked up some nice treasures for very cheap, sometimes $.25 a car. I've never considered myself a collector either. Some folks are just insane with them.

Tell the truth. Have you ever bought one of the Hot Wheels "garages" or "service stations" for your cars? LOL.

For a few years, there, Hot Wheels was releasing some really nice cars. For the last couple of years, though, I've been really unimpressed.

I was into the JadaToys Import Racer line, but they're getting increasingly harder to find. Now, it's all about the muscle... :(

I collect them! I think I have a little over 1,000 now. I have to get them together for a picture some time soon. I've actually been looking to sell them also if anyone's interested.

My son picked up two more the other night at the mall. Found a 2008 Nissan Skyline GT-R and he grabbed the last mystery car on the shelf. He couldn't wait to get home and open them...so to my surprise the mystery car ended up being a Bugatti Veyron! He didn't seem to share the same excitement as me. (dunno) lol

I've still got mine from when I was young. I've also picked up a few as an adult-sized child! My son has 22 already, he's 2!

I'd go take pictures of his collection, but they're in his room, and he's in bed.
