hey guys.. where can i get a hood for the protege.. i wanna try something new..and makemy own custom hood.. why? becauses i wandered onto the 240sx website.. and they showed how they do custom hoods.. looks easy.. but takes patience.. anyone that works at mazda? and can find out the price for a hood? thanks

I would like to do a replacement hood for the MP3 with louvers. Not only would it look good -- I'm tired of the Hondas running the BMW Z3 type louvered fenders already -- but it would sure cool down the engine compartment.
I know I could get the louvers done...it would just be a matter of cutting holes and welding the louvered sections in. Maybe a row on each side of the hood.
Thoughts?

Custom Hood!
If You're going to go Custom with your hood why don't you make it out of fiberglass while your at it. You will loose the extra weight of a stock hood and the material is cheaper. It does not make sense to me that you will buy another hood to do the mods on! Just go straight into the lighter fiberglass.
Not only will your ride look sweet but you eliminated some extra weight that will eventually translate into performance do to weight reduction.Post some pictures while your at it too. Your posts should be a good addition to the project car forum.
