Hood

Ok. This really sucks. I have had my 3 for about a month now and i looked at my hood and saw that the clear coat was coming off. I took it to a body shop today and they said that it was coming up from the bottom up. So now i gotta take it back to the dealership and have the service manager look at it to see if the warrenty covers it. They can't say that a rock caused it because it is starting to come up in other places on the hood. This really pisses me off. Just wanting to know what everybody else thinks.

Dont let the dealer paint it, That will make your car worthless in the trade in market. I did this with a honda i had 35 miles on. The dealer said they would repaint the whole bumper cause it was flaking. I unknowingly said ok.Then I found out it was worth not even half of what I paid for it after only having 200 miles on it due to it being painted eventhough the dealer did it. I yelled and screamed till they took the car back and refunded all downpayments!

WTF are you talking about?? If the do a good repaint, nobody will even know about the incident. I am also very suspicious that the dealer took the car back. Sounds like BS to me...

I called the dealership and they said that the service dept. manager had to decide if the warrenty covers it. If it is coming up from the bottom, the warrenty should be covered because somebody messed up when they painted it. I would also like to know if anybody else has had this problem and how long would it take to get the hood painted.

Well, the car should still be under warranty.....they should repaint it free of charge for sure.
