Tell me what you guys think of this pic attached below..... its not really attached to the hood but I thought it would give us some idea as to what it would look like with a hood scoop like the subaru has.

imo it'll look better if the hood wasn't so high, since we have the underscoop, it raises it too much.

i think our hood is high enough already, after addin' the hood scoop, it's gonna be too much, sorry but i say no(ughdance)

we already have an AWSOME scoop stock... HUGE hood.... like one of the few things that set us apart from other mazdas visually....

THAT being said.. FRONT MOUNT is the way to go... if those kits being produced position the thing where its A) useful... and B) easy to see, like on evo's and such...

Thats always been a quick way to tell whats an evo/sti or other heavily modded car... checking for front mount... Plenty of standard lancer's runnin around that slap evo body parts on...

Anyway... Front mount = PIMP

Look at it this way...

CF Hood = 700... and requires extra drilling and modding to make it work properly....

FMIC Kits are estimated at around 1000-1200.... so a few dollars more and you've got a REAL performance upgrade... which also looks good to boot..

Thanks for posting the pic. I often wondered what the car would look like with a hood scoop but now I know visually, IMHO it would look like a$$. I guess my only choice to really improve the performance of the IC is to go FMIC. Meanwhile, I 'll suffer the dreaded heat soak and wait for my warranty to expire.

No prob...I figured I wasnt the only one who was curious...so if figured Id share.

as some said, big big super tall hoods are for muscle cars...if anything, i would said an integrated srt4-like hood scoop that does not intervene with the height of the current hood.

Yes it does look good! I wish Mazda had done this for the Speed6 instead of that steroid induced bulging hood thing!
