hood mod

you wont notice a difference...just like people on here were talking like they noticed a difference when you remove weatherstripping, which you dont. if you do, you need to check yourself into a hospital. anyways, im not saying theres not a reason or not right to do it, because im sure there is...i would just worry about a lot of other things first, like bigger turbo, forged internals, pulleys, cams, significant wieght reduction, cam gears, etc before i started making my car look like it was a victim of a bad insurance claim :D

True that. If you're relly woried about the heat in there just get a vented hood. Or cut a hole with a sawzall

If you were to put spacers in the hood you'd have to put hella big spacers in there because you said you didn't want to remove the weatherstripping. Plus if you are worried about water gettting in there and therefore not removing the wetherstripping wouldn't raising the hood allow water to get in there anyway?

here ya go i could only get 4 5/8 spacers w/o changing out the studs it looks like the left side is higher but just a very lil bit. i dont have any ware to host the pics.

That's exactly what I was thinking.

AFA 1338's pics, looks like he rear-ended someone and now his hood won't fit right. Sorry, but I think it looks kinda cheesy.

but the idea isn't how it looks, the idea is that you lower your under hood temp. thereby allow you to shut down your turbo faster and perhaps even getting a bit cooler air from your intake (less heat on the pipe CAI and cooler air SRI). I wouldn't suggest doing it daily driver but it shouldn't take you but 10 minutes to do it before AutoXing. IMO.

P.S. I've never been one to worry much about the temp of the air drawn in on engines as small as ours, but I can see that if this aids engine bay temps that it could prove useful...

it lowered temp by 20 degres driving. and sitting in traffid it was about the same damn sitting in traffic the temp roes up to 200 deegres!!! i just did it to see the diffrence in underhood temps. i was board today lol. but its goin back to normal! i will only do for track day.

damn...that's a big raise doode ! if i do mine i think i'll put less spacers. well at least it works right !? hehe...good job ! kewl s***.
