Hood Deflector

I recently bought a hood deflector for the front end of my P5. A friend of mine sold it to me for $10, however he didn't have any of the hardware from when he took it off his car.

I went to Canadian Tire, the stealership and another auto place but no one has the fit kit to install the damn thing! The guy at my local dealership tells me the part's discontinued and that he can't get the bolts, the clips or the rubber protectors because of that...

I really want this thing on ASAP, so what are my options??

Matt

you mean like a bug deflector? those are usually double-sided foam taped on the hood

I have seen some bug deflectors that require drilling thru the hood....not sure in the case of the P5. x2 on the double-sided tape.

There are actually hemispheric clear rubber pieces with adhesive on the flat side. Plus a couple clamps. No drilling on the hood is required.

hey,MTV,call at delisle mazda on sherbrooke street, right next to frontenac, ask them for the 6 screws for a hood deflector, thats all you need,i am sure they have thoses in stock, plus you need 4 littles protector cups to stick on the hood to prevent the deflector from rattling on it with high speed wind, about .25cents each...

its an easy install, about 15 mins when you know how...tell me if you need help!

Cool man. I appreciate the info.

I'm gonna visit them on monday and I'll let you know how it goes.

No luck. I called them up and they told me the bolts and everything come with it. They don't sell them seperately.

I would have to buy a new one for the price of $89.95. Whereas I got mine from a friend for $10.00!! So I would basically be buying bolts, rubber protector and clips for $80.00

Any other ideas??

Matt

well the ohter way would be to go at reno-depot or home-depot,to get some screws,or even to get in contact with the company who made the deflector, like vent shade,or have you tried duro-vitro-plus-g lebeau, try to call them you never know, they install so many accessory s,i cant beleive they wont have an idea!...

Ya, I think I'm gonna have to custom fit it on. I'll figure something out...

I already checked Lebeau, they had nothing. But thanks for the insight!

Could you ask them if you could take a look at the kit, and mesure everything out, and just get the parts from a hardware store?

I have a non-mazda hodd deflector and there was no drilling required, just clips at the leading edge of the hood and four to six hemispherical rubber stickies to place about four to six inches from the leading edge of the hood to prevent the deflector from contacting the hood itself.

I'm pretty sure the hemispherical stickies, one can find at a hardware store or even a dollar-store. not sure where you'd be able to find the clips though...if that's what you deflector came with.
