Hondata RSX

um, alot, my friend was gonna get it on his new rsx type-s....those are a force to be reckoned with with the hondata

I havnt raced a HONDATA but I have raced a RSX (base) w/intake/exhaust/ lightended fly. We are close every time (neck and neck) ... thats not using nitrous. w/nitrous. take it by apx 2 cars..

RXMmazdaspeed:
HONDATA is basically a Programmable ECU.

Ive been beeten by a Type-S with Hondata. They can accually hang with S2000's supposedly. They have great topend comback power. Lowdown I get them.

HP depends on the mods and tuning, they have 2 types of systems that I have read up on. 1. is a ECU that you have to send in every time you do a mod. .. (dont know the model # off hand) 2. Is a ecu that you DIY tuning (if you know what your doing). .

Yea the Type-S are fast cars, Iv taken one for a spin,Lots of potential... The base arent half as fast..

RSX Type S's with the Hondata ECU can beat an S2000. Those things are pretty bad ass. The K20 is the same block as the F20C in the S2000, but I'm unsure why the K20 is more easy to mod that the F20C. You can spend $10,000 on modding the F20C for NA and only gain 30 to 40hp. But put that $10,000 in a supercharger with smaller pulley and intercooler with AEM EMS and you will be sporting 350+rwhp. Then lighten up the car a little bit and you will be b**** slapping C5 Corvettes. Not the Z06 though, that's on the level of Ferrari. Whole different ball game there.;)

But after having rear wheel drive, I could never go back to front wheel drive like the RSX. I like hanging out the ass end too much.:D

My friend has a Type-S with Intake, Headers, Exhaust, Hondata Flash, and Toda Cams and he runs a 13.7@102 on street tires.

It's pretty fast. I haven't raced him head to head yet but it would be pretty close from a roll at least till 135mph speed limiter :( GRRR!!

What Reuben said it does:

"This resets the fuel map, lowers vtec activation from 5800rpms to 5200rpms, and raises redline from 8100rpms to 8600rpms."

Which means you can do this:

That all depends on the mods. However, if you look at the 1/4 mile list, our fastest time is 13.7 & Reuben (friend of a friend) is running a 13.6 with minimal mods.

Damm!!! what mods would it take for an MSP to take an Hondata RSX??
A bigger turbo and forged internals, or just stock setup and a standalone ECU.

Hondata does all of the following:
1) Lowers VTEC (if you want)
2) Raises fuel cut off to 8600rpm (if you want)
3) Eliminates VTEC dip
4) Optimizes fuel maps
5) Advances timing
6) Increase throtle repsonse
7) 95% peak tq from 2500rpm to 8000rpm

All you need to know is that a RSX with a cold air intake and Hondata usually dyno's around 5whp less then a stock s2000. I have personally beat s2000's before. I usually pull about a car to a car and a half in 3rd gear, and stay pretty even in 4th...

Oh, and BTW im Black Majik MSP's friend...The one that ran a 14.1......That was in the south florida summer heat. I havent had the chance to go back for some time now. Im sure I could run high 13's all day in this cooler weather.

If you call high 13's low 14's hauling ass, then yes. So far the fastest time with stock interals in a K20A2 (type s motor) is a 13.6....and thats without a race header.;) The fastest all motor time is a 13.1.....and the only interal mod done to that car were type r cams.....So you could say it was all oem interals (which it was)

The K20 responds very well to mods. Hytech has a kit for the rsx that makes 280whp all motor.
