Homelink works ALL the time!?

Anyone else have the homelink try it w/ the car off and the key in your pocket?? It works. A flaw in my opinion if someone breaks into your car they can get right into your garage. Isn't that SOME of the point of homelink...to not have a garage door opener in there for easy access to crooks? Thank god I live in a decent area.

wow i did notice that but i didn't think about somebody brake into my car and open the garage door!!! LOL

Not sure I understand. If you have to have the key on you, a crook won't be able to get into your house (unless they get your key)... am I understanding that right?

the homelink always works whether there's keys in the car or not... it works just like having your garage door opener hanging off your visor.... the point of it is to REPLACE the garage door opener, NOT add security/theft deterance

In my TSX it adds security in that you can only open the garage using homelink w/ the key in the ignition. My point is that by breaking into the car and using homelink on the CX-7 they can access anything in my garage...the other two cars, the motorcycle and anything else I have in there. I suppose I'll have to switch which car is inside and which is outside but I didn't really want to do that since the Acura is our 'nicer' car...or what's more probable, I'll probably just delete the codes out of the CX-7's homelink.

I understand now and hear what you're saying... I wouldn't like that either. ESPECIALLY since you can set up homelink to also unlock you front door! That's a real security risk knowing that once someone broke into your car they could also get into your house.

Those mirrors are aftermarket sold with mazda's name on it the harness wires right to the dome light, Its a accesssory not OE equip if you don't like that rewire to a power sourse thats only powered when the car is on. My Mitsubishi homelink on my visor is always on, my friends Envoy always on etc... Its universal . end.

I'll trade you a non-homelink regular mirror plus cash for yours if it bothers you.
