2013 CX9 GT
Brand new CX9 GT owner [380 miles] and the Home Link has defeated my attempts to program the Genie Intelligent garage door opener. My mirror model # ends in 4,so I'm supposed to use the first set of instructions[I think]???
I have tried this at least 25 times to no avail. Open for suggestions! Thanks in advance for your help.

My 08 CX-9 and 09-CX-7 were homelink mirrors were working great with my 15 yeaer old Raynor lifters until I did some upgrades this summer.
I just installed two new doors and Liftmaster garage door openers with MYQ technology that I can control with my Iphone and web. However, my "older" Homelink wouldn't talk the new Homelink 4.0 in the lifters so I had to install a Liftmaster 855LM Homelink repeater. It essentially converts the old Homelink signal to the new 4.0/MYQ technology. I had several calls with HomeLink and LiftMaster support (which I think are the same) and they indicated that all the car manufacturers were notified back in 2008 but many still haven't upgraded to the new 4.0 spec, including Mazda. It's really a problem with the mirror manufacturer, not Mazda who OEM's it.

I don't know if Chamberlain/Liftmaster own Genie, but perhaps you need something similar?

Thanks for your input. I turned the vehicle around to face the door, got as close as I could, pressed the outside two buttons to clear my multiple previous attempts, performed the instructions again, and it worked the first time. hope this helps
