Is this really worth the cash??

Why are they so expensive and what do you (really) get from them???

please chime in if you have one......(I would reallly like some TECHNICAL reasons why I would shell out 2 bills +for this mod)

Thanks all!!!!!!!!!!

you pay for the turbosmart to get the loud bov sound while still retaining the recirculation that you need to keep the motor running fine.

Everyone loves getting wet over the forge valve, I have a Greddy type-s and if you want it loud, get one of those. It will cost you less and sound bad ass if you are in the market for sound. To each his own tho

I havent had any issues with mine at all. I don't get any backfiring of surging or any of that. I just adjusted it and the spring took a few days of driving and wear and tear to break in and then i tightened it a bit more until it was perfect. I have no problems with leaking or surging. I have a boost gauge and it holds slightly above 16 psi (since i have some other mods) and doesnt stoop or lower. But rarely ever to I give it full throttle for long periods of time. I only floor it if I want to get onto the freeway and listen to the bov and exhaust for rice purposes and s**** n giggles

I have a red/black turbosmart and love it. It really is a high quality pice of work. Still messing around with the ajustments though. Every once in a while I get a small pop.

I have the real Greddy type-s bov now (cuz I like the whistle sound) but I recently had the fake EBAY greddy type-s knockoff and it sounded great and worked very well and held up strong!

It only cost about $30 shipped for the bov and $30 for the atp adapter flange from SU so you can bolt it on, for $60 its 1/5 the price of the turbosmart, which you can get, either way it's up to what YOU want. Here is a link to my thread about that with pics of everything and 4 videos:

UHATEIT and I have been pm-ing to discuss the greddy type s valves. I LOVE the way it sounds and got mine to stop backfiring, but it still popped sometimes on decel and wasnt as smooth shifting. I just got my SU fitting and now I am running it in recirc. Still sounds pretty good, just not the full trademark sound. It's quieter and on full boost you also get the turbo xs 50/50 whip crack sound mixed in there.

but yeah, for $200 or less you might be able to snag a used greddy s or rs, adapter plate, recirc plug, and run it in recirc if you are worried about how the car is gonna run. I mean vta worked alright.

If you are worried about clogging cats, go catless ;)
