does anybody have any clue if there is a plug n play harness for the type 1 for the msp? I've looked and fould a part# but every time I search somewhere else w/ that # it pops up a 90's turbo rx-7 harness, not protg.

HKS does make a universal plug n play harness I cfould use or just splice into factory harness if need be. just curious as to other peoples opinions or experience.

I have never seen anything for a protege with a plug and play harness, i'm sure you will just have to splice the wires in.

ya that's what I've been thinking. do you know of any link to which wires on the MSP ecu are for the rpm signal and speed sensor? I'd hate to leave some of my options unused on my TT.

I'm not sure off the top of my head but I know of a couple installation threads. I used to have an apexi TT that monitored battery voltage and had a narroband 02 sensor built in but I ended up removing it as I didn't see it necessary on a water cooled turbo not to mention I will let it sit and cool before I park it anyway.
You have to cut a blue wire on the rear deck behind the back seats to be able to lock the car while it is running, even with this you still have to wait for the engine to shut off to lock it again to arm the alarm. If you ever try to program a keyless entry remote you must reinstall the blue wire to get into programming mode.

I recently bought a Haltech sprint 500 ecu.. to tune my MSP with. It came with a harness, which in fact did not work for the MSP. So, i needed to send the harness out to get re wired for 600$. It came back and was pretty much plug and play besides some ground and power wires and a few other wires.... Bottom line is that i sent it back yesterday because the ECU failed horribly etc etc. MSP do not have plug and play harnesses lol.

ya i didn't really think i was going to get one but since i got it for christmas i figured i'd use it or possibly trade for something more useful
