I have the CP-E HKS BOV kit for the Mazdaspeed 3. after i rev the engine the car stalls. i am running it in recirc. i read somewhere that i have to adjust the tension of the BOV but i do not know how to. also i felt air coming from the BOV itself. no air from the recirc tube or vaccum tubes. everything else is stock on my car. the car is a daily driver so need help fast. thanks.

I would go back over your install and check all the vac lines..something is not right. Or call CPE and ask them for assistance.

also make sure the bov itself is not leaking put your had over the bov and see if air is coming out of anywhere... i have the same kit. make sure all the lines are zip tied down and dont fall off by them selves or under boost, i also had the smaller line collapse on me, didnt make my car stall but made it run bad

also i felt air coming from the BOV itself. no air from the recirc tube or vaccum tubes.

Something is intalled wrong. Where does the air come from. The 2 bolt flange? The c-clip area? The 8 bolts on top after clocking the valve? The 4 bolts for inserting the recirc tip? There should be a sealed system and the stalling is directly related to this air leak. As for adjustment, that was done away with 2 models ago.

take a pic of your BOV, I'd like to see where the lines are and the condition and whatnot to help with trouble shooting

Something is installed incorrectly as everyone has stated...also, there is no adjustment on the HKS SSQV; thats the bonus of this BPV/BOV...

I installed mine (PG direct bolt-on) in about 10 mins and it worked perfectly. Did you rotate your recirculation hose? Did you use the adapter to connect the vaccum side? Make sure you only loosened the 4 bolts in the instructions to convert to recirculation...and make sure all the bolts are snug...

This is what it should look like:

I hope this helps.

It's hard to tell without seeing it, but it seems like it has something to do with the vacuum tube. There could also be a leak between the flange and the bov. I know when I first installed my BOV, I was so ansy to listen to it that I forgot to install my vacuum tube and I got terrible rough idling and my car shut off, oops.

If you can't seem to figure it out, maybe it would be a good idea to go back stock for the time being.

i got the cpe one and it came with a C-clamp...wtf is up with that zip tie?

I looped the vacuum hose under the BOV/BPV, so the zip tie is holding the vacuum hose in place... Actually I shortened the vacuum hose since the install and no longer have that zip tie there...

I get that question a lot... (lol2)

My PG HKS SSQV Direct Bolt-on Kit came ready to install. All I had to do was convert it to recirculation and bolt it up... (2thumbs)
