HKPRO5's Supercharger Build Thread

Got the pulley on........ running .66 hkpa. or 9.5 PSI...... =)

All I can say is that I have to get it tuned. Felt some hiccuping when I was testing. So I gotta save up some money and get the spilt sec tuned then ill also get some numbers.

does the bottom of the mount for the sc attach to anything? and can i get a picture of it off the car? its getting to that time :D

There are 4 points on the back of the bracket..... and there is no way to take it off.... (because im too lazy lol) Just measure the stock mounting points off the AC bracket. Then base you plate off of that.

i swear you showed me a picture of the bracket off of the car.

should it be difficult to fab?

Nah. as long as you have the right materials.

Search for MP3 performance supercharger build thread.

Do you have any advice for going supercharged? I can make the brackets and stuff myself just wondering about how difficult it was for you

Depending on your fabrication skills it can be done. After reciving the kit I was like "well I could have done this...lol"

I believe sourcing out the SC unit itself is another issue.

Other than that it's straight forward. Right now there are two other people that are on the path of SC. I have been working with both of them. So if you need any help should you go down this road, I wOuld be glad to help.

Do you have any pics of how you have everything set up? Sc pipes etc I looked through some of this but didn't see any if I can get an idea of how everything needs to be itl make it easier.I gota do something to make this car more fun and turbo is too much. About how much did you spend on the sc stuff altogether?

Couldn't have been more than $1500.

I'll see if I can get some pics up. PM me your email it would be easier for me that way.

Yeah depending on what kind of deals you can get on parts (such as buying used off forums) $1500 sounds like a pretty good estimate, i am going to supercharge my car as well and i priced out all the parts minus the cost of the supercharger, the piping, and the belt (and the piping and belt should be pretty cheap) to be $1250 not including shipping this is everything i am planning on picking up:
Split Secon Air/Fuel Controller
Slim Fan (Maybe 2)
Radiator Coolant Hose
Pro-Sport Evo Boost Gauge
Pro-Sport Evo Air/Fuel Gauge + Wideband O2 Sensor
Greddy Blow Type RS off valve
Millenia PCV Valve
Mazdaspeed Vacuum Check Valve (for the evap system)
Silicone Vacuum Hose
Gauge Mounting
Belt for PS Pump + Supercharger

To me the hardest part of supercharging my mazda looks like its going to be fabricating the mount for the supercharger because i am gonna have to buy a new welder or pay someone since my old one is toast :(

I hope to have all of the parts in time to start working on my car next spring since trying to work in -30 weather without a heated garage sucks lol

Hey if you get around to fabricating a bracket before i do, would you mind taking pictures of it and giving me some measurements for when i make mine? if i somehow manage to make mine before you do i will gladly do the same, however i don't think i will be at that stage before until march due to $$

I'll be taking it off in a few months. I'll be mounting the SpeedCircuit turbo kit for promotional purposes. I'll be able to get some specs then.

Damn that's cheap. How hard was it for you to tune? Since you've bumped it up to 9.5 psi do you have any power estimates? Is 180-200whp do able?

But shouldn't you be excited, AJ? I would vulture scoop in on his SC parts. haha

LoL, dang! Well regardless, I'm excited to follow the turbo build thread. Maybe I'll finally understand how boost works. Haha
