Hit 105 last night...and it felt great!!

i went to gainesville from orlando last weekend and hit 100,110,120 many times racin a 240sx that i stomped. had the speedo up to 130 once. fukkin awesome at speed luvin it.

155 with plenty of room on the rpm gauge to go.:D I can almost do 100 in 3rd gear. The 60 to 100 time in a S2000 is just insane fast.

i havent had mine above 110 yet, and for some reason the speed just dont seem to have the top end like my old 93 integra, I had that thing at 142 on the high way, speedo goes to 140. had a radar check it.

well to MackDadam, congrats, glad you had fun. :D

as far as the top end speed of the 3rd gen Proteges the only limit is the drag limit. the stock powerplant seems to be unable to overcome the drag coefficient at about 135~140 on the MSPs.

tryant - the same reason applies as to why your integra would go faster, i.e. the drag coefficient is more than likely lower plus the honda engines love to hail up about 6.5~7 grand...

I've been up to 125 a few times in my MSP, and it's solid. I honestly feel it is probably one of the most stable cars I've been in in that speed range. My 1st gen rx-7 was a bit looser at similar speeds.

Yeah my first gen rx-7 at high speed felt like it was about to get ready for takeoff.

I've been about 85 in the MSP. In the svt I went 145 stock, after the S/C was installed I usually let off early, its too easy to go that fast!

i took my dads buick regal up too 110.....but drag stopped it clean there :) i hit 115 all the time in my 240sx (damn governer) and 120 with my msp.....havent needed to go higher, i burned everything by 90 mph tops lol.....

Yeah...and if you drop the headlights, you really do pick up about 3-5MPH! I was racing at night, dropped the lights & ran w/ driving projectors...it was nuts goin' down I-95 @ ~135 racing 2 other cars, all of us running only driving lights. (That was my younger, more impressionable years! ;) )

140 mph speedo, hit 135 indicated

Charles, You're bogging. This guy did 135 in his first gen and all it has is an Ebay air filter!

i have an lx, full header back exhaust, advanced timing, an ebay filter and adaptor, i have quite a bit more than an ebay air filter

o, and my short shifter will be here this week, and my custom made cai will be here around christmas. there is a large red scrolling mod list in my sig. read and look before you make an ass of yourself

Hey, I've upgraded to a 5-speed with 20 more hp! By the way, that wasn't top speed... plus I still had the A/C on. Haha. I just thought that would be a good point to back off. I think there are several forum members who could vouch for me though.

I'm an ass? (rofl)
I aint the guy claiming 135 in a stock first gen Protege, and I'm not the guy claiming that an MSP can beat me by only one car length. If anything, It seems like you'd LOSE some torque with a big exhaust but no other mods.

Let's be honest...I've been in PLENTY of first gen Proteges, 323s, hell even GLCs, but I've never been in one that's faster than my P5. And my P5 tops out at 130 or so.

I've only hit about 85 mph in my mp5, however I know someone whos dad has a porsche gt2 that raced in le mans. It is the only gt2 in the world that is 4wd (drivetrain or whatever take from the 4wd turbo or something). He has a pic of him at 5 in the morning doing 206 MPH in it. This car is crazy....
