high power MSPs!

on a more serious note, a lot of the guys on here have not dynoed. There are some pretty insane builds on here but none dynoed. A few have decent numbers all within the mid 200's. I plan to dyno in the near future. One p5 that used to be on the forum is making around 497 to the wheels IIRC. I know of one MSP making around 315 but are fully built to include trans with straight cut gears. Mazdaspeed2oo3.5 is making somewhere around 500 I believe.

Thanks for the serious reply. I just wanna know what these motors can produce. So I posted something.

147hp like a BOSS!!! Before the rebuild that was. Probably less now, due to the nice hole in my hot pipe from resting on my manifold,

I know it'll cost my life to do it. But I'd like to have mine meet 500. If possible. But that's a far future idea.

Mine makes 0 hp at the wheels. I'd measure at the crank but there isn't one :(

Before you get too far into the idea of 500 hp do some reading. There doesn't seem to be any amount of money that will allow you to successfully do this without constantly breaking something. 300 is doable, 400 is iffy (you will be breaking things regularly no matter what you spent), 500 can be done if you only want the car to last for a couple dyno pulls. I've seen an FS powered car make over 600 but it took more money than just buying a viper, corvette, 911, supra, etc and doing it right the first time. This is NOT the car to use for making big power.

mine made 205 on 10lbs. before i got the Pope DP, injectors, and forged it. with Mods in Sig. that was a very conservative tune though. as i Auto-x, and i drive this car like its the last day of my life. with a more aggressive tune, and another hour or so on the Dyno, i beleige it would have made 210/215. but then i would have made my way into the "bent rod crew" Good luck with your Build. and i really hope you have a spare DD. :)

I haven't been on here long either, (only had the MSP for couple of months) but I've been building cars for the last 10 years (Nissan's mostly) and I've never been on a forum that came up with it's own term for an engine failure because it happened so often!!! That being said, if this is your DD and only car, I would keep the plans in the mid 200hp range. When you've driven a FWD car with 250whp and a limited slip, you'll see that more HP doesn't gain you ANYTHING on a street driven car. The more power you make over that, the more it either torque steers, or just lights up the tires. If you're going to be road racing or dragging it, then I could see the worth in tearing the motor apart and forging it, but other than that, just enjoy the car and the AWESOME handling that Mazda blessed it with.

Must be dedicated to the msp to get up that range, plus cash to get to 500 will cost you another msp. Gl

My last dyno a year ago was 520whp/496wtq @ 26psi. Im still improving thigs up and will soon up the boost to 30+PSI add some other stuff along with a better and more aggressive tune to see if i can reach 600whp , if i do that will be it, Ill be done with the Performance section and move on to how it looks like interior and exterior along with new sound system. most likely will lower the boost and HP to something reasonable after i see those damn 600 ponnies to the wheels at dyno, its a personal thing, im not trying to impress anybody here. I think ive gone pretty far and want to see whats the limits of what i have done to this MSP.

btw Cwill had the Record. he did 417whp with stock head and 3071r Turbo. and 12 secs quater mile if i remember correctly

^ getting to 500 is going to cost a lot more than another MSP, probably another 2 or 3 when it's all said and done (reliable 500 of course).

Edit: That was supposed to be for the comment before Mazdaspeed2oo35
