Your ignition does not constantly advance. It is a set map thru airflow, density and load. So you are not making anymore power with it. It is not advancing the timing enough to make the full potential possible. But if you are running forced induction then it is very beneficial. Just my two cents:D

now i can understand that, but from just driving around it feels smoother to drive around, I know it makes no real performance change at all. but i just think it feels nicer pulling away and the lower end rpms don't seem so hard for the engine.

high octane fuels burn slower...and typically are required for cars/bikes with high compression....or in the case of our engine when there is more advance in the ignition system, like the MP3....or in turbo applications like the mazdaspeed.....

the only thing you are actually HURTING at the moment is your WALLET! its getting lighter every time you fill up your car...and for no good reason either.

I ran some 110 octance unleaded gas in my turbo Civic and didn't notice that much of a difference. Helps you keep your motor alive, though. Low octane + boost = BOOM or Melt-down.

high octane = lower milage per tank... althou it does feel more torgue... but... still not worth it imo...

i agree with sir nuke and kyredp5,

$4 x 52 weeks (approx 52weeks in one year) = $208

wow! i coulda used that 208 for 87 octane!! go back to 87 bro

high octane fuel

Well in my experience the better fuel does seem to help...a little more torque response and smoother acceleration. when i use regular the car seems to run shittier. Although i really only use midlevel since it seems that when i use 90+ octane for too long it also runs bad. Also it runs really damn nice on a cold night with some higher octane fuel. But i have always noticed a difference across the board when using better fuel just not alot...but here in NJ gas is cheap so i dont mind the expense either
