well regardless theres still alot of people with stock motors going pop... id rather be on the safe side and protect my $25,000 investment
woudln't the safe side be keeping it as the engineers had designed it?

Fat Dave: I say it's worth the money, you won't notice a power increase. but it's a "safe" mod. Worth every penny IMO.
Mazda's fuel pump is just junk. There are nearly stock cars that are running out of fuel. (like me). Especially when it's cold out. It's well worth the cost even if you aren't planning on modding that much. This will be my next mod as well.
well they must not have designed it too well if its blowing up
If it blows up, Mazda will give you a new one (unless you have applied mods like a fuel pump kit).im not sure how many.. all im sayin is i dont want my motor to blow up

If you actually read threads you'd know that it only happens to folks that are modding like crazy...
Not entirely true:.......
The fully modded guys are more likely to blow, but stockers are going too...
No more stockers having problems than any other mfg. I call BS on all the above people. They joined a big Mazda forum then they posted their story so Mazda reps (who do read these forums) see how innocent they are. They didn't join for the community as evidenced by their post counts. I stand by my statement.
When asked if the cam timing slip was anything I or they could have caused the dealer said the manufacturer sets the timing at the factory. Whether it is SOP to test, verify or validate the manufacturer I dont know. I can say that through this whole experience the dealership, Walzer Mazda in MN has been great with everything from keeping me informed, rental, follow up etc.... and as it should be. This considering I didnt even buy the car there. They also called me and told me they talked to Mazda about my situation and Mazda agreed to pay for an extended warranty on the engine to 100K. This does not regain any faith in the car, but at least I have faith in the dealer, that they will look out for me and take care me because of my history with them. Unless they tell me "you need to take that s*** back to OK where you bought it." lol
