High compression piston

I wonder if someone were to email them, and get all of the measurements then we could compare them to the stock pistons. But I am not sure if they would be that willing to just hand out thier info like that...

That's what I was thinking about. I figured that we would need the complete specs. on those pistons to make them work.

But I wonder if even the psitons would not be a direct fit, maybe the pistons and connecting would work in our engines. If the 1.6 miata has the same bore, maybe we could easily obtain 1.6L status in our 1.5's by swapping parts. Assuming that the pistons won't crash into the head and the crank is the same diameter and width.

The key number is pin height and diameter. If it matches then it can be made to work, however, with a different stroke, it will probably lower the compression. Just to be clear, to stroke the motor you will need a new crankshaft, new pistons, and if you're lucky keep the same rods.

JE custom makes pistons, they're not expensive for a forged option, and not more expensive than a shelf item. Buying a stock piston, taking measurements and developing one is something that isn't difficult, but you need to know how to do it. If you're seriously at the point where you're ready to replace pistons, I would gladly measure a stock unit & model it with JE. Just ship me a piston. I'd like to measure & dissect a stocker. It's been a few years since I've made custom pistons, this would be fun to do.
